Hearing New Moon on Monday -- Duran Duran
Any day you can work in a reference to Duran Duran is a terrifying one indeed. And now, without futher ado: Links for you.
* Ever wonder who makes movie trailers, how they do it, and why they put stuff into the trailers that's not in the movie itself? This article answers all.
* If you have a hankering to hear old time radio shows, this site features 11,000 of them, from Abbot and Costello to Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. I'm listening to the Mercury Theater of the Air version of Dracula. Neat!
* Here's a kvetch about the new limitations imposed on carryons and flying. However, it's written by a Canadian, and you know how they are. Of course, we have a perfectly cromulent home-grown kvetch about it here, too.
* Are we getting kids up too early for school? Speaking as someone who used to wake up at 5:45 to get enough hot water in his boarding high school's shower, yes! Yes, we are. However, since if I remember correctly a teenager will always stay up long enough not to get enough sleep, the question is how much we can do about that.
* D'oh! China is banning The Simpsons -- and other foreign cartoons -- during its prime-time viewing schedule. Apparently they're too popular and making it difficult on homegrown cartoons. Which leads me to think: Is this really going to help? Can no one program a VCR or a DVR in China? I am skeptical.
* Proof you matter: User-Generated Content Drives Half of U.S. Top 10 Fastest Growing Web Brands. It's still mostly pictures of cats, though. SOme things never change.
* Finally, from the "guys terrified suspicions confirmed" bin: "A woman's sex drive begins to plummet once she is in a secure relationship, according to research." And then men turn to golf. Now you know. I don't play golf, myself. Make of that what you will.

Thanks for the OTR! I love that!
Great article on teens & sleep. I think it changes with each decade! My Melatonin must be nuts. Well look at when I'm posting this! HA! I wake up with my cell phone alarm now too & yes I reset it occasionally when I have off!
Now on the sex one...they didn't define "relationship"!!!! Is that married or not or both? That makes a difference. It also doesn't say cause & effect! Maybe it is the man's lack of attention over the years which declines the desire to have sex with them. It doesn't say anything about if you have kids & are tired because you are running around doing all kinds of things. ETC, ETC, ETC! Poor article! -
And here I thought you were lifting your lamp by the golden door, or whatever the quote is from that famous non-Duran poem. - K.

I recognised the Duran Duran reference even before I read the first sentence of this post. Why, yes, I am embarrassed about that.
