Hearing Fell on Black Days -- Soundgarden
No, this isn't about the extreme ironing craze, although that certainly is a little, you know, out there. No, this is an interesting article on some of the more innovative ideas in doing one's laundry, the most interesting of which is right at the top: the Whirlpool Bodybox, an all-in-one unit that combines a washer, dryer, sink and show into one unit. One unit with many compartments, of course. Otherwise running the dryer and the shower at the same time would be an exercise in futility. It's still pretty cool, especially if you're someone who has a dinky, dinky studio apartment.

For what it's worth, I have an acquaintance who collects vintage washing machines. I think he has about 15 of them hooked up in his garage now. He gets together with friends for a washathon, and will tell you about the cleaning power of Mexican detergents (do to lax environmental standards) and his favorite domestic detergent (Tide). - Karen

There's a time where you go out and check on his well-being, and a time where you stay inside and laugh with your sister while he does that Yabba Dabba Doo dance all over the backyard.
To make up for it, Shea and I decided to carry the washer ourself, while hub was washing down Percs with beer. We had to take it out of the door by the lake, and carry it up the stairs to the truck. Hub was carrying this by himself over his shoulder when he dropped it, but it was all Shea and I could do just to get it up like 6 of the steps.
Then Shea lifted before I did, it tipped back too far for me to hold it, and slammed down each step before crashing into Monponsett Lake.
I went inside, made my husband a big sandwich, and treated him like a king for about an hour before I told him what happened, where the washer was, and how I wished him good luck in getting it into the truck.
