Hearing Nothing at the moment.
As a fan of librarians in general, I foud myself getting misty-eyed a couple of times with this long LA Times article, about a librarian who worked 30 years in the Mississippi delta, one of America's poorest and least literate areas. The librarian in question is not necessarily lovable, or even likable, but there seems to be no doubt he's made a real difference. As so many librarians do, often without the credit. Worth your reading time.

I have done too many research papers back in the day and the Librarian was my hero...the librarians that helped me didnt have charming personalities, but why must people be on a stage to be grateful?...If I couldnt find something, they always did....they are generally well paid but have served students of learning countless times,,,-Raven
