Hearing One Word -- Brian Eno and John Cale
As you know, North Korea claims to have detonated a nuclear bomb, albeit a small one (and which some experts figure wasn't entirely successful in exploding as planned). But, aside from North Korea's word on the matter, how can any of the rest of us confirm that the bomb was nuclear? The Washington Post has a little primer on things that go boom in an atomic smashing way. It won't necessarily make you feel better about having North Korea in the atomic club, but at least you'll be better informed.

I read that South Koreas scientists got a 3.54 seismic thingy at about the time that the North set off the bomb.
This is EXACTLY where I think we should be using our nuclear weapons. "You want the bomb? Here's a dozen for ya..." -
Interesting. Wonder if they notified the countries involved in the Tsunami that a huge earthquake had occured in the middle of the ocean? From what I read that was more powerful than a bomb. Sandi
