Hearing Heavens Calling -- Hyperion
Because if there's not a list for everything the terrorists will have won, there is now apparently a list of the 101 Most Influential People Who Never Existed. Among the top ten: Santa Claus (#4, as noted), Hamlet, Frankenstein's monster and Big Brother. Clearly, as Santa is on this list, you'll not want to be discussing this list with the tykes you know who are still banking on an appearance from the jolly ol' elf.
The whole list is, well, you know. Debatable. However, one place I think the list is entirely out of whack is its number one position, which the makers of the list award The Marlboro Man. How's that again? Over Big Brother and Santa? I don't think so. Sounds like someone is trying to make a silly political point more than anything else. I won't debate Mr. Cigarette Horsey Man being on the list, but he doesn't even rate in the top 50, much less number one. Also: No Simpsons? Or Bugs Bunny? For shame.
Your thoughts on this list?

I kind of agree with the Marlboro Man being high on the list. I don't know about number one, but I don't think there's any question that he is one of the most influential advertising icons ever created. What number on the list did God come in?

Santa Claus is REAL! And if you don't believe that I'll be sending some elves over to rough you up... next you'll say that Unicorns don't exist :shaking head:
