Hearing Eden -- 10,000 Maniacs

I have to tell you I'm excited for this upcoming World Series primarily because of the Detroit Tigers -- I like the idea of a team so bad it lost 119 games just a few years ago swinging its way into the Series. Also, one of my best friends in college is a huge, huge, HUGE Tigers fan, and he's been over the moon this whole season. It's nice when your friends are happy, you know? I don't have anything against the Cards, mind you -- nice team, nice city -- but if ever there was a Cinderella story in modern baseball, the Tigers would be it.
AOL Sports has a look ahead at the series, which is fairly feline positive as well. But I ask you: Who do you think is going to win the series? And -- is it the team you want to win?

I think the Tigers will win it all, despite the 4-1 score in Game 1 as I write this.

Go Brewers!
Next year, baby! Or, perhaps the year after that... Well, maybe sometime.

I grew up in Detroit. In 5th grad (sigh...1968) the Tigers played the Cardinals in the World Series. In those days the Series was only played in the daytime. My school allowed TVs in the classrooms, so we could watch. This little former 10-year old was hooked for life - Go Get 'Em Tigers!

I am voting for the Tigers too since I was Dave Dombrowski's next door neighbor when I was young! :-)
