Hearing Lithium -- Nirvana
For those of you who are a bit geeky like me, yesterday was a big day because the new version of the Firefox browser was released: Firefox 2.0. I've been playing with it since last night and so far I think it works pretty well. For me the big innovation is a built-in dictionary that kicks in when I'm typing blog/journal entries. This is useful because I usually update By The Way inside of Firefox, not the AOL client, which means I can't take advantage of the built-in spell check, which is why it looks like I'm so often typing drunk around here. Well, no more! Spell check will solve all my problems!
My only complaint with Firefox 2.0 at this point is the same complaint I have every time they update the browser, which is that the upgrade often breaks the "extensions" that provide added functionality to the browser; you have to wait for the extension developer to update the extension, if they do at all (Firefox does make it easy to check for updates, fortunately). At the moment some of my favorite extension aren't working, but hopefully they'll be updated in the next several days.
Other than that, an excellent browser, and it's free. Check it out and see if it's a useful browser for you. I use it as my primary browser, so that should tell what I think about it.

Just right-click on the misspelled word, and it'll bring up a list. Very handy.

Thank you for the update on firefox.
I use it as my main browser b/c aol doesn't work well with my mac.
I just have to figure out how to move my favorites(Bookmark) from the old version to the new. I wonder if I can open both browsers at the same time.....
