Hearing Re: Your Brains -- Jonathan Coulton

While I was out an about this afternoon Krissy, Athena and a friend of Athena's were busily carving up pumpkins, and when I came home there was this big bowl of pumpkin innards in the sink, a testament to the terrific violence gone to those pitiable gourds. Of course, when you look at it like it is above, with the pumpkin gore in its natural orange state, it doesn't look so bad. But tweak the color just a little bit, and:

Aaaaaaaagh! Punkin' brains!! Zombie bait!! Run!!
Yes, I may have a little bit too much free time. What can I say.

( PLEASE ALWAYS CUT AWAY FROM YOU)
A LARGE KNIFE OR A HATCHET COULD SERVE WELL.
CUT INTO EASILY HANDLED PIECES AND PLACE IN A LARGE KETTLE.
REALLY NO NEED TO REMOVE SEED AND PULP.
COVER WITH WATER AND BOIL UNTIL TENDER.
COOL OFF AND BE SURPRISED AT HOW EASY IT IS TO REMOVE SEEDS
AND THE STRINGY MEMBRANE OR PULP I CALL IT
THE 'MEAT' OF THE PUMPKIN IS THEN EASILY SCRAPED FROM SHELL.
MOST PEOPLE PROBABLY ALREADY KNEW THIS. sam
