Hearing Christmas is the Time -- Lou Rawls
And how is Gawker helping you today? Well, by offering you a list of Blog Cliches -- sayings and remarks that the Gawkettes happen to think are past their sell-by date and dreadfully overused in the online context. Left unspoken is the question of who died and left Gawker in charge of the language, and whether you should actually listen to blog tips from people who make their money obsessing over celebrity genitalia. But, hey, you do what you want.

Yes, John has used almost all of those at some time, or another. His usage, however, is ironic, because he used them knowingly. John has his finger firmly on the pulse of all that is almost passé.
