Hearing Up on the Roof -- The Drifters
Wired magazine asked one its writers to give up TV -- maybe. They asked him to stop getting TV the old-fashioned way, through cable and network television, and instead get it the new-fashioned way: through the Internet. Is it possible? And if it possible, is it as good as getting the way we're used to getting it? The whole story is here. The verdict may surprise you.
The story reminds me how little television we actually watch around here these days. Athena watches the cartoon channels and we watch the Daily show and a few other things, but when it comes right down to it, we pay for a lot of TV we don't actually get around to watching. I'll have to think about that. I could be using the money for other things. Hmmmm.
How much TV do you watch?

I watch no TV that isn't sports or news.
I had a conversation about the show Survivor that ended with me saying "Why doesn't the Professor just fix the boat?" -
The only thing my TV is hooked up to is a DVD for watching movies. We gave up TV about 7 years ago and I can't imagine having it again. I love to read and truely think I may be smarter since I quit TV because I spend more time learning about things. Maybe when I am old and grey I will get it again but the shows are going to have to be better.
