Hearing Nothing at the moment


For my money, the Flatiron Building is one of the coolest buildings ever, and not just because one of my publishers has an office there, so I get to visit it from time to time. Be that as it may, the American Institute of Architects polled Americans for their 150 favorite bits of architecture, and the Flatiron came in only at #72. 72! Behind the Dolphin and Swan Hotels at Walt Disney World. What's wrong with people?

  If that thing ever meets the Great Flying Vagina Plaza, there may be a baby Chrysler Building walking around next winter.

  D'oh...  I was just getting set to do an entry on this.  Scalzi scooped me!  Maaaaaaaaa!
  
  I liked that the Milwaukee Art Museum was on the list at #59 (I think).  That building is awesome, but utterly useless as an art museum.  
  
  Anyway, I'm with you.  The Flatiron should be in the top 20, at least.
