Radar has a fascinating article about people who have experienced Internet Fame -- whether they wanted to or not. Sure, it's a lot of fun to laugh at the Star Wars Kid or the Numa Numa Guy, but remember that they weren't necessarily expecting their adventures to be shown worldwide. When 900 million people see you acting a bit of an ass, that tends to be a little depressing. Take it from someone known as "The Bacon Cat Dude."
(Note: article contains profanity. And YouTube links!)

I'm not actually annoyed that I'm associated with bacon cat -- really, I did it to myself. But even funny stuff can get old, you know?

Is it bad that everytime someone mentioned 'bacon-cat' at Boskone, I wanted to kick them in the head in your defense? There were times you looked visibly annoyed.
I guess the only comfort is that your books will attract the right sort of crowd, and keep them, while 'bacon-cat' will fade away when some other fad comes around. In summation, I'd like to offer this pic on my blog to put to rest the legend that is 'Bacon-cat.'
