Hearing Surrender -- Cheap Trick
I'm back from my nap and I'm afraid it didn't do me too much good -- I still feel as if my brain is stuffed with cotton swabbing and that an elephant pressed down on the square of my back with its foot -- lots of slow and achy. If you ever wanted to sell me some swampland, today would be an excellent time to do it because I'm not mentally capable of making sound judgments today. Mmmm... swampland.
But enough about that. As some of you may know, early this morning AOL Journals received another update, and I want to call your attention to two of the updated things you can do: you can now recommend a particular entry you like to Digg and to del.icio.us, which are social aggregation sites. When you recommend entries to these sites, other users vote on them, and if you garner enough votes, then they'll pop up on the sites front screens. After which huge numbers of Web surfers will come to visit the entry, and the AOL Journals web servers will get a heck of a workout handling all the traffic. And good for them; the servers are getting flabby and complacent anyway.
Here's some more details about the update, and about both Digg and del.icio.us, from Journals Product Manager Stephanie, and from Journals Editor Joe. Be aware you'll need to sign up for these sites in order to recommend entries.
And now, I'm off for another nap. Enjoy yourself for the rest of the day, okay? Okay.

Wait til Krissy is home, do a big shot of Nyquil, then smoke a joint. Works for me.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. This daggone winter seems to be dragging on and on .. so much for the notion that when the groundhog doesn't see its shadow there's gonna be an early spring. I think it really means it's gonna get colder than any human would hope for, EVER .... then when it gets a bit warmer, but actually still cold, we just think it's warm.
The 'bug' thing going around, yeah, I gots it too today. Had me a nice BIG nap too and also feel like sludge .... -
I noticed the change this morning. I was wondering what exactly was going on with that. Thanks for the info.

John, sorry to hear you're feeling sick, too. Seems to be hitting everyone (myself included). My nap today actually helped a bit. Hope your next one works out better.
Gotta admit, I've been ambivalent about most of the journal updates, but I really like the premise behind the "Digg" thing. Very cool.
