Friends in High Places

This is what the Empire State Building looks like from about 20,000 feet. You can't see King Kong from here, alas. For the Monday Photo Shoot, I asked folks to show off their pictures taken from on high; here's what we have.

This looks like LA to me.

From the top of a pyramid

It's the Houses of Parliament!

The edge of Black Canyon

Looking down on the farm

Shore and sea

The workplace, from above

Christmas in Puerto Vallarta

It's Mt. Rainier!

Off of Sagamore Bridge

The view from a Blackhawk

Various heighty pictures

Above the valley

San Francisco at night

Look! A parking lot! Did they pave paradise for it?

The Hudson River

High up at Cellular Field

Return to the pyramids!

Looking toward the San Gabriel mountains

Traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway

Dover, New Hampshire

A view from the attic

Scenes from a hike

Cancun by parasail
.

Excellent photos, everyone! Glad we don't have too many people afraid of heights.

In answer to your question, no, that lot wasn't especially paradisaical before it was paved.  No sign of Melanie or Joanie Mitchell, either. Nice view, though.

I'm terrified of heights, and was in fear the entire time I took that shot... but a Smurf's gotta do what a Smurf's gotta do.
