Hearing Nothing at the moment
Well, I've been having an interesting day. As many of you know, I write science fiction novels when I'm not here, and am pretty involved in the science fiction community at large (in fact, at the moment I'm running for president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America). So it was very cool last night when it was announced that I am a Hugo nominee for Best Fan Writer. The Hugos are the big award in science fiction writing, and "Best Fan Writer" is given to people who are writing about issues relating to science fiction -- usually in "fanzines," but also online, say, in journals or blog. The latter case is what happened here. It's pretty damn nifty.
For those of you interested, here's the entire Hugo list. There's some good reading there, if you're a fan of science fiction (and even if you're not).

I was a little thrown by this nomination (first saw it in the Ficlets blog) until I read the explanation of the category nomenclature by Patrick Nielsen Hayden (your editor and fellow nominee!) over on Making Light. It does make sense; I get a lot of my sf news from your three blogs these days. Congratulations!

Tangentially related side note -- saw your book for sale in London. (Three pounds off! But the exchange rate still blew.)
