Hearing Elevation -- U2
The budding season of spring is bursting out all over the Scalzi Compound, and I expect in most other places, which has inspired what I think will be a cheerful Photo Shoot for us all:
Your Monday Photo Shoot: Take a snap of some of the latest blossoms and blooms near you. If for some reason it's still too chilly where you are, one, you my sympathy, and two, go ahead and use a picture from your archives. But everyone else should go out and take a fresh picture if they can. Let's see what spring looks like here in 2007.

This is a closeup of the dwarf cherry tree in our backyard, which as you can see is positively covered in little white blooms at the moment; it gorgeous. It's also covered with bees, who are pollinating as quickly as they possibly can. This is a good thing for the bees and the tree, although it means that within just a few days the cherry blossoms here will begin to fall off, their purpose served. It's a reminder that beauty is evanescent, so enjoy it while you can (and have other things to enjoy when it's gone). Also, it's a remind not to bug the bees. They're useful, and they get annoyed when you swat at them. I'm just saying.
Get out into the world and take a picture of the blooms and blossoms where you are. Put them up on your blog or Web site and then come back here to leave a link. Between all of us, we'll get April off to a cheery start! And remember -- it's called the Monday Photo Shoot because that's when it starts, but you can participate right up until Thursday at noon, Eastern time. So you have lots of time to get those pictures in.

Sorry about the link. I thought we had to use the HTML to make them work. Maybe that's on Whatever.
