Finding Fake Photos

I've been known to fiddle with Photoshop here and there, to make images that aren't exactly, well, plausible. But what happens when someone uses a photo editing program with the intent to deceive? That's when you call in the experts. This article talks to one photo expert who tracks down photographic forgeries, and who tells you some of the ways it gets done. The easier it is to manipulate images, the more important it is to know that an image, particularly on the news, is telling you the truth.

Years ago, I went to a State Bar convention, where a lecturer held up a digital camera and said, "This is the end of photographic evidence as we know it."

Yup, just because I am terrible at it doesn't mean everyone is.  It is great to see ways to spot the fakes.
