Hearing Nothing at the moment

Portland, City of Roses

Although, city nickname aside, there are no roses in this picture. It's possibly because I'm ten floors up in this hotel. There might be roses beneath me, I just can't see them from this angle.

Seriously, however, Portland is a lovely city, and here I am. Just thought you'd like to know. There days I feel not unlike Carmen San Diego, except without the fetching long red scarf (or the hair. Or the trenchcoat).

Hope you're all well.

I just got back from the vicinity of Portland, Maine, and they're pretty pissed about Portland stealing the name.

"Ayup... 'next Civil War... gonna gut those p****s."

Most people there are sure that our next Civil War will be an East-West affair, and I'm inclined to agree.

Didn't you love Powell's?  I lived in Portland for a year and in Oregon for 5 years total.  It is one of my favorite cities!  So much to do and see and EAT!  Great food.  Too bad, it doesn't seem like you got to linger.

I live just 20 miles west of Portland,  in Hillsboro.  I hope you enjoy our City Of Roses.  Will you make it to The Rose Garden???? It is beautiful and not far from downtown.  Did you know that Portland made the top 5 in the Bloggiest cities?
