Hearing You Oughta Know -- Jonathan Coulton
Here's a shout out to all you lazy folks out there: You're not lazy until you're Vegas lazy:
In increasing numbers, Las Vegas tourists exhausted by the four miles of gluttony laid out before them are getting around on electric "mobility scooters."
Don't think trendy Vespa motorbikes. Think updated wheelchair.
Forking over about $40 a day and their pride, perfectly healthy tourists are cruising around Las Vegas casinos in transportation intended for the infirm.
Oh, they're infirm, all right. Infirm in the head. Personally speaking, I'm as lazy as the next guy, but I figure there might come a day when I'm not actually able to walk, at which time I probably won't be thrilled to have the little scooter, because then I won't have the choice. So until that day, I might as well walk. Because it's nice to have options, you know?
On the same token, this picture of a mom on a Segway pushing a stroller has enraged teh Intarnets! I don't know, maybe she has bad knees or something. Let's hope so. Because otherwise, man. Sloth, folks. It'll get you.

I'm a housewife who has a nanny now and then.

Dan - Can't you picture the conversation in the house that led up to the "leaf" blowing? I'm too lazy to shell out the dialog, but I can imagine I'd do the same to justify my purchase of a power tool to the wife. :)

No man... Sloth is my neighbor and his freakin' leaf blower. I once watched him try to blow a SINGLE leaf off his lawn in the rain. The leaf wasn't moving, so he bent down, picked it up, looked at it, and then dropped it on the ground and proceeded to try blowing it again. From there, it was pretty much a "lather, rinse, repeat" situation as he spent a freakin' half hour trying to move this single leaf ten measly feet to the street in the pouring rain with his whiney little gizmo.
Gah...
