Hearing Catch the Moon -- Elizabeth Mitchell and Lisa Loeb
This is good news for anyone who doesn't want an e-mail box full of crap:
A 27-year-old man described as one of the world's most prolific spammers was arrested Wednesday, and federal authorities said computer users across the Web could notice a decrease in the amount of junk e-mail.
Robert Alan Soloway is accused of using networks of compromised "zombie" computers to send out millions upon millions of spam e-mails.
"He's one of the top 10 spammers in the world," said Tim Cranton, a Microsoft Corp. lawyer who is senior director of the company's Worldwide Internet Safety Programs. "He's a huge problem for our customers. This is a very good day."
If the dude is found guilty, I'd be perfectly happy to see him spend 20 or so years in the pen. Better yet, sentence him to the aggregate time people around the world have spent dealing with the spam he sent. He'd be in the big house until he was a pile of bones. As you can see, I'm not especially sympathetic to spammers.

I think a good punishment for him would be to force him to hand write every single piece of spam he's sent over the years.
Death by papercuts!

Dunno. My non-AOL account seems to be a bit more quiet today, spam-wise. I agree it's likely to be temporary, however.

Good news, but I highly doubt we'll see even the smallest blip in spam volumes. He's one of the top ten spammers. That only means there are nine others waiting around to snap up his customers.
