Hearing Mercy Street -- Peter Gabriel

The reason? Not only is it Father's Day, in which I bask in having an awesome kid, but it's also the 12th anniversary of my marriage, in which I celebrate somehow managing to convince the most perfect woman who ever did live to spend her life with me. So I'm going to, you know, appreciate both today. You kids have fun around here; I'll see you tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Father's Day... you deserve the day off, John. Every few years, our Anniversary falls on Father's Day as well (June 14), but it's always Flag Day. BTW, I'm in the middle of The Last Colony.... can hardly put it down! The story is complex and keeps me wondering how the colonists are going to deal with this problem and then the next, in addition to their relationships amongst themselves, and their ties with CU versus the Conclave. I'm at the part where Perry and Sagan discover the extended version of the video showing the Conclave ships destroying that one colony, and he's talking to Hickory and Dickory about how far they would go to protect Zoe and the colony. Excellent read. Well done, Mr. Scalzi. bea
