Hearing The Secret Garden -- William Orbit

Another Thursday, another Weekend Assignment -- a small fact which in itself has gotten me thinking about the days of the work week. Everyone knows about the idea of "working for the weekend," but I think that gives short shrift to at least five days of the week, each of which has its own personality. With that in mind:
Your Weekend Assignment #179: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: of all the days of the work week, which is your favorite? Yes, I know a lot of people will default toward Friday, because it's an easy one, but I hope you will actually put some thought into your response and give each day its due. If you finally settle on Friday, fair enough. But even Monday has its good points, you know?
Extra Credit: Name a song you like with a day of the week in it (you can include Saturdays and Sundays for consideration here).
Personally, I'm a big fan of today: Thursday. By this time you know how your week is shaping up, but you also have the expectation of what you're going to do with your weekend. It's a day for looking back and looking forward: the real "hump day" of the week, if you ask me. It's also the last day any real work gets done; by Friday everyone's mind is somewhere else. So I find it to be an unusually productive day (partially because I don't want to have to do stuff on Friday), and that always gives me a sense of accomplishment. It's a day that makes me feel good about myself, and how can you not like that? You can't. And so: Thursday. A very good day of the week.
My pick for a "day" song: "A Life of Sundays" by The Waterboys. It's a tremendously joyful song about a man surprised and delighted to find himself in love again. "Never in a life of Sundays would I have seen me here," sings Mike Scott (the Waterboys' lead singer), but it's clear that there's nowhere else he'd rather be. Lovely song.
You're up! Pick a day, any day (as long as it's not Saturday or Sunday) and tell us what makes it a good day after all. Write it up in your blog or journal, and then come back here to leave a link!
