Hearing Nothing at the moment
As I noted in the Monday Photo Shoot, By The Way officially went online exactly four years ago today -- I had done a little blogging on the beta version of AOL Journals prior to that, but this was the big day for this particular journal. You should know that "By The Way" wasn't actually the first name I had picked out for this journal; when the AOL folks asked me what I wanted to call it I gave them a slate of potential names, and the one I liked most was "Opposable Pinky." The AOL folks said that certainly was clever but not precisely what they were looking for. So "By The Way" it became.
Without a doubt, it's been a great four years. AOL Journals and its community have had its ups and downs over the years, and my life has certainly changed over the last four years -- thankfully largely for the better. Through it all, it has been my privilege to share it with you, the members of the AOL Journals community and the BTW readers from elsewhere. This has been one of the most fun jobs I've had in my life, and much of that fun is due to you folks. So thank you.
And now -- forward! Four years is done: Let's see what's coming up.

Hi, have been a reader from sometime near the start, and By the Way has helped me mnay times, from technical stuff to ideas when my creative well has gone dry. I especially like the links to wierd and wonder sites you find. I am most impressed with the amount of reading you must do to produce the words you send to us. And..thanks for introducing us to your family...and dog and cats.
