Hearing Last Kiss -- Pearl Jam

An Image That Will Haunt Your Dreams

Well, probably not. But it's still kinda of a shocker: Me at 17!

Yes, I had hair. Lots of hair. Oodles and scads of hair. Not like now. No, I don't want to talk about it.

Journal Editors Joe saw this picture and said "You just did the 'dramatic-glasses-taking-off-thing' right before the snap, right?" The answer: Oh, probably. The thing is those glasses, when situated on my head, took up the top half of my face. Really, they were hideous. Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking with those glasses.

The picture is courtesy of my high school friend Dennis Pascual, who sent this and a few other along last night. We'll be going back to our 20th reunion this year; it'll be interesting to see if any of us recognize each other anymore. Because, you know. Don't much look like this any more. To start, I would need to lose 25 pounds. And get a wig. And a jaw line.

Stupid aging.

Mmm! 17 year old me would have totally wanted to date 17 year old you. LOL! Somewhere I have a journal post with photos of boyfriends from that era...you would have fit right in. :-)

I have no idea why, but when I saw the photo, i instantly started hearing a song in my head: "Josie's on a vacation far away, come around and talk it over..." So then I looked up the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ9jPyZtl2E) and found it to be 100% apropos.

And I would put money down that my same-era glasses were bigger than yours. What were we thinking, indeed...

It finally hit me.... you look like John Cusak in 'Say Anything' one of the best romantic/teen love films of the 80's.

    be well,
    Dawn

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought 'John Stamos' when I saw this picture.
