The Cleanest Cars You (Probably) Can't Buy


This, I find interesting: Car makers are selling cars with super-low emissions; so low, in fact, that you'll put more hydrocarbons into the air grilling a hamburger on your patio than you will driving one of these cars for a couple of hours. There's just one catch: You can only buy these cars in eight states. Their sale is banned in every other state, by law.

The law keeps these cars out of showrooms in those states, by the way? The Clear Air Act, of course! Yes, it's called "irony."
