Hearing Nothing at the moment

Looks like even the lowly penny is going to get an updated look, to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth:
A penny for your thoughts will have extra meaning in 2009 — the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the Lincoln penny.
To commemorate the event, the U.S. Mint, at the direction of Congress, will introduce four rotating designs on the 1-cent coin for that year depicting different aspects of Lincoln's life.
Those designs will replace the engraving of the Lincoln Memorial on the "tails" side of the coin. The famous profile of Lincoln will remain on the "heads" side of the coin.
Those are some of the suggested designs above.
I'm all for this sort of thing; my only complaint is they don't do it enough, and the new coins don't seem to get any sort of circulation. I've hardly seen any of the nickels with the new designs, for example, and the only reason I've even seen the new dollar coins with the presidents on them is that I recently went to the bank specifically to get dollar coins (for my daughter's school lunch money; I thought it would be fun for her). So hopefully these will get a wider circulation.
Your thoughts?

I agree with Julie. That young Abe is a frightening looking youth, LOL!

You would think they could try and make poor Abe a little more youthful looking on the coin portraying his youth, doncha think?! Julie
