Hearing Nothing at the moment

What I'm Not Thankful For

That at the moment my office looks like this:

Honestly, I don't know what the hell is wrong with me that I can't keep my office clean for more than a week. Part of it is that I get a lot of books -- you can see a stack on the desk -- and eventually they all just pile up. The other part is that, alas, I'm a slob. I don't know if that part of my personality is ever going to change much at this late date. Clearly what I need is to become uber-rich so that I can hire someone to come clean up after me. Yes, that'll be my plan from here on out.

    The view is limited, compared to the view in the previous picture added by freee's comment, but it really doesn't look that messy. The pictures on the wall look kind of messy. Maybe one big picture would be better. That plaque looks as if it should have a special place somewhere. Stack the books on the floor under the desk and move the trashcan. Love the monitor and the piggybank.
    Win =.)

    Wow - things sure do change over the years.  I remember this:  http://journals.aol.com/johnmscalzi/bytheway/entries/2003/10/12/weekend-project-part-ii/301

    Even though this seems messy to you, it looks cozy and lived-in!  And check out that monitor!  Wow!

    Looks neat enough to me. If you had litter all over the floor it'd be a different story though...

    Well, it's not exactly tidy, but quite
    a bit better than mine. In fact I flinched
    when I first saw your office photo and
    had a flash of 'How'd they get that pix?'
    Off-the-floor suggestion, tentatively
    offered: Given that it is a work place I
    suggest you strike the sofa. Don't get mad,
    just a suggestion.

    I particularly like the baseball fan! I didn't think you were one however, so I'm curious, did that come with the house?

    Other than that, hey, it's your space and if you can feel creative in cluttered Coke Zero cans and random books, then by all means. :)
