Hearing Nothing at the moment
As the days get shorter and the amount of sunlight we see is less, I thought it would be nice for this week's Photo Shoot focus on light -- and the sometimes surprising things it does:
Your Monday Photo Shoot: Show us light in a surprising way. Long exposures, interesting reflections, the play between light and shadow -- anything that calls attention to the light itself. This is very open-ended, so I'm curious to see what you all will come up with.
Here's mine:

This was taken the other day. The sky had been entirely overcast all day, but as the sun was setting, there must have been enough of a break in the clouds to light up a portion of the clouds from behind (you can see the other set of clouds behind it). This cloudy ring of fire lasted about as long as it took for me to grab my camera and snap a picture of it; a minute later and I would have missed it. As it was I ended up Photoshopping the dirt off the window I shot this picture through. The clouds, however, were as you see them.
Your turn: Get a picture of light doing something interesting, post it up on your blog or journal, and then come back here to leave a link. And remember, even though it's called the Monday Photo Shoot, you have until Thursday noon (Eastern time) to get something in. So no rush -- have fun.
