Hearing Breathe Me -- Sia
For this week's Weekend Assignment, I thought I would do something a little different, because, hey, we don't have too many of these left, so if I want to try something different, now would be the time. So, here's this week's slightly different Weekend Assignment:
Weekend Assignment #195: Do something extra nice for someone you know. Which is to say, something above and beyond your general level of niceness. Could be for a spouse, or a friend, or a co-worker, or a child, or someone you've met randomly as you're walking around the mall.
Does this mean I want you to do it and then write about it? Not necessarily: Some acts of kindness or niceness are better shared just between those who perform than and receive them. See, this is one of the reasons why this Weekend Assignment is different. On the other hand, if you want to share, I wouldn't mind hearing about it.
Here's mine:

I sent these to my wife's work the other day. The card reads "Happy Give Your Wife Flowers For No Reason Day!" Because, really, I didn't have any reason to give my wife flowers except for the fact she's perfect and wonderful and loves me. But I thought I would anyway. It's nice to just do that every once in a while, you know?
Anyway, off you go -- be nice at people, why don't you. If you want to write about it, or just say "I did it!" then groovy. But otherwise, just do it and let it be a nice surprise for someone. Not because it's the holiday season. Just because it's nice to be nice.

when i first saw this, the first thing i said was, "how nice!" i just might do it myself although my starbucksian progeny suggests that no one else will pay it forward in our neck of the woods...but i do love a challenge.
