Hearing Nothing at the moment
Well, I found the little dongle thingie that lets me sign onto AOL (I have an extra layer of security because I'm a contractor, you see), so now I can share this picture with you, which I shot as I was in the Philadelphia airport, going back home after my speaking appearance:

It was a roving band of interestingly dressed fellow, doing vaguely dixieland-ish music. At first, when I couldn't see them, I just thought someone had turned on a radio really loudly. But then I saw people looking, and that's when I decided I better get out my camera. It not what you generally expect to see in your airport -- I did wonder if they were trying to make a connecting flight somewhere -- but it was welcome nonetheless as I waited for my plane to board.
I'm happy to say my speaking engagement went very well, and that my flights both to and from Philly had no problems at all. If only all travel were so pleasant. Once I got back to Ohio, driving home wasn't so swell -- turns out there had been a snowstorm and the road's hadn't been plowed yet -- but I got home alive and undinged, which is what you hope for with roads being what they were.
I'm going to spend the rest of the day doing nothing; I hop eyour day will be similarly restful.

Funny as all get out. Maybe the airport hosts entertainment to keep the masses, you know, peaceful and the like.

Now we are being told they are "mummers", but what is a mummer, LOL? I am too lazy to look it up.
The weather is bad here in PA also. Glad you got home alive and undinged.

John, surprised that you were not familiar with the Mummers. They parade up Broad Street from South Philly every New Years Day. Tradition of over one hundred years.
Parade last about twelve hours or so. Comics (Mew Years Shooters), fancy brigades and the string bands. I may have left one division out of the list. Each group has a club and they spend all year working on their costumes and presentations. After the parade they parry all night. I am sure you have "Oh Them Golden Slippers" which I consider their theme song.
Really is something everyone should see the parade at least once in their lifetime. Bill
