Hearing Nothing at the moment

Those Crazy Dutch

This is wacky yet somehow also awesome: The Dutch contemplate building a new 30 mile island off the coast of their country. The kicker: It would look like this:

That'd be a $15 billion tulip, once the construction costs are factored in. I'm for this because it would be cool, and also because it's not my money. Your thoughts?

From the photo, I have decided it is all a hoax.  Neat one though.

Cape Cod looks like a slowly extending middle finger, meant for Europe.

Since humans are so good at building levees and the like *cough*--why the hell not manufacture an island?

hmmm. my thought is what a humongous waste of money, no matter whose it is. they could feed and house so many people in the world instead. or donate it to find a cure for cancer.  money confuses me, anyway. when there's not enough, can't they just make more and divide it evenly, so nobody will live in poverty? hmmm. sad.
