For those of you who are wondering what I liked in music is this year, this is probably my favorite song of 2007 -- or at least it was until it became unbearably ironic because the singer in real life quite clearly needs the thing she's rejecting in the song.
Really, it's sad. Get yourself together, dear. We'd like you around after you're 30.
My other favorite song of the year is not actually from this year, but I found it this year, so it qualifies on that score. Here it is. Watch it for a few minutes and you'll see why I think it's pretty clever:
Scary, ain't it?

Okay, those are two of the SCARIEST songs ever. LOL Don't like Amy. Don't like the message. The second one is just plain wrong. LOL

Amy Winehouse has had her fifteen minutes. Expect to not even hear her name once in 2008. Led Zeppelin, however, having been the biggest story in music in 2007, will quite likely be the biggest story in music in 2008 as well. Unlesss all the rumours are lies (I'll blame Ian Asbury in that case).
In my opinion, those who claim to dislike Stairway to Heaven are simply being contrary for the sake of being contrary. Or, they're disco freaks, or something. Stairway to Heaven is one of the greatest songs ever written, and I'm not just saying that because of the alleged (but fictional) backwards lyrics.

I'm still not an Amy Winehouse fan.
There are 101 versions of the second song at WFMU's blog...
http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/05/stairways_to_he.html
including the one by the Beatnix. I'm not a big fan of the song. I think it's one of the most over-rated rock songs of all time except for, maybe, "Freebird," but there are several interesting versions on WFMU's list, including Dread Zeppelin's and the Gilligan's Island version. -
Sad to say...I've wondered what all the fuss was with Amy. I had NO idea who the hell she was to get all that press. I'd never heard any of her music before, until today. A shame. She is quite talented.
The other video I saw when you posted it on Whatever...and as I was listening to it, my husband's eyebrows shot up and he came running to look over my shoulder. He had to have the link. LOL! It was pretty amazing. I'm surprized that tribute band hasn't found more fame. They are fab.

And no, I am not a disco freak. Now now, not ever.
