Happy Anniversary to Us!

Well here we are 45 years later, who would have thought.  Time does go so fast when you're having fun and busy raising 4 kids.

Floyd and I met at the 88 cent store, I was working there, my big break out of high school ha ha, and he came to be the store manager.  There was just something about him that told me this would be the person I would spend the rest of my life with, don't ask me why.  Cause we didn't really hit it off right away.  But we started spending more and more time together and less than a year later we were married and started on this long journey.

If young people today could just understand that it is never easy, there are many bumps in the road, but it is wonderful to have this partner to share all these events that you go through in life.  I know I am very lucky, believe me,  Wow 45 years I can remember when I wasn't even sure I would live that long.

We'll be doing something special together to celebrate today, being retired is still a wonderful thing.

Feeling Sad

Thank You All So Much

Hello there all you dear people.  I want to tell you all how moved I am by all your thoughts and prayers, and a special thank you to my dear friend Linda, from "Linda's World".

Yes, my dear sister passed on this morning after an almost 9 month battle with lung cancer.  She passed peacefully in her sleep.  Up until about a week and a half ago I had been visiting with her and we even went to lunch one day, down by the waterfront, which she really enjoyed.  I am so thankful that we had these moments together at the end.

She did not have an easy life, besides having these terminal illness, she cared for her first husband, who had multiple sclerosis for many years plus working a full time job.  Then he was put in a nursing home and she visited him every single day.  She definitely deserves a special place in Heaven and I'm sure is at peace now.

She leaves behind her second husband, who has been taking very good care of her.  Plus she has 2 children, one granddaughter and 2 very darling great granddaughters.

I am doing fine, it is just very sad for me because she was the last of my immediate family.  I know I have a wonderful family of my own now but it's just a weird feeling when all the family you grew up with are gone, so please for me appreciate all those family members now while they are with you, before all you have left are memories and pictures.

Thank you again and I will start posting again soon and showing you all some new pictures of my darling grandchildren, and the comings and goings of Floyd and I.  I will post some pictures of our trip down south, we did have a great time.

Good night for now, Joni

Linda's Trip

For those of you that read "Linda's World", you know that yesterday she left headed for Nevada.  Well they stayed the first night in Canyonville, Oregon.  They had dinner there had a good night, then realized in the morning that Bob had misplaced his wallet, oh dear.  They checked everywere and didn't find it yet, but hopefully it will show up.

Anyway she called a bit ago and they are over the Siskiyous now headed for Nevada.  She said the road was bare and wet and there was only snow on the sides of the road and believe it or not the sun was shining, man I wish I was there.

As usual we are having a dark gloomy day, a little windy, a little rainy, but not quite as cold.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

On another matter Son #3 and his wife and Reese Vivian and I went to visit my sister yesterday.  She is home resting comfortably and is up moving around slowly.  Doing much better, she is hooked up to oxygen but it is down to 4 from 20, so much better.  She was really happy to see us especially the baby and the bag of books I brought her, she loves to read.

Well hope everyone has a great Sunday.  I'm reading my new Stephen King book and may go to the store and get some valentines to send.

Feeling Happy

GREAT NEWS!

Wanted to let you all know that my sister is home from the hospital.  She does still have to be on oxygen but can get up and around.  It seems the pneumonia has abated.  She sounds pretty much like her old self, so glad she is not bed ridden.

She will be having someone to come in and help her get adjusted, but her husband is very helpful also.  She was so happy to get out of that hospital and her little dog was so happy to see her.

Thank you all again for all those prayers.

Joni

LOVE/COMMUNITY PHOTO CHALLENGE

This is my entry for the Community Photo Challenge on Love.  When I held these two new little granddaughters of mine about a month ago my heart was completely filled with Love.  It was totalling amazing.

I know everything here has been about babies for a while, I guess it may wear off here pretty soon, in fact the pictures have slowed down.  But I will never get over the miracle of having these two new babies so close together.

Nice Matters

Linda thank you so much for mentioning me for this award, I guess I can put it on my sidebar now.  Linda is such a nice person and I've known her since forever it seems like.  She is always there to talk to and if you have a question about most anything.  I love reading her stories.

I think everyone I read has one of these but I will mention them, just in case they haven't.

Good Morning Sunshine, http://journals.aol.com/marainey1/GoodMorningSunshine/, what a great way to start the morning with her inspiring journal.

Sandra's Scribbles, http://journals.aol.com/labdancer51/SandrasScribbles/, it is wonderful to read about your family and your trips and I love the pictures.

Guido of course from Northern Trip, http://journals.aol.com/pharmolo,  You are such a caring person and seem to be taking care of all of us.  I'm sure we all appreciate you so much.

Midnight Conversations with Monica is another one I can think of.  I love her pictures and love to hear about her grandchildren and children.

Dad's Tomato Garden, which I don't have the link for her right now, always has a cup of coffee or tea waiting for you in the morning.

I know there are more but I just don't have the links here, like Monica, Ally and Pat.

Thank for all for accepting me in your community and I hope I did this right is offended if I didn't mention them, because I love reading each and everyone of you and think you are all nice.

By the way thank you again to all of you praying for my sister, she is still holding on and may be able to go home sometime this week, did not make it for Superbowl.  But her oxygen is way down and she wants so bad to be able to go home again.  I will be going to see her a couple of times this week and taking her books, she loves to read.

Have a great night, Love and Prayers to all you wonderful people.  Joni

I Have to Say Thank You Again

Well once again I will say prayers do work.  My sister is doing much better.  The medicine has started working and her oxygen is almost down to a level where she can go home.  She is a very big football fan and is excited that she may be able to go home and watch the Superbowl.

Here is a picture of her with her little dog Skipper, I'm sure he missed her very much.  I went up and saw her on Wed. and it did not look good, so it looks like this time she has dodged the bullet, we will have more time to be together.

Thanks again and I'll post updates.

Thank You All So Much

I want to be sure to thank all of you so much for your comments and prayers, it means so much to me.  I have never had such an outpouring of comments on my journal.

I really thought I would have better news today.  But I just talked to Cathy and she did not sound good.  She wants me to come up and talk to her.  Yes she is in St Clare's.  I will try to update my journal as soon as I know something.  Something positive I pray.

Thank you all again.

Feeling Worried

Prayers Needed Please

I got a phone call this morning that my sister has been put in the hospital.  She had not been feeling well last week and went to the Dr.  He ordered a scan and found that she has pneumonia, which I'm sure is common with lung cancer.  He has put her in there for a few days only, I hope.

I talked to her and she already sounds stronger and did not want me to come down today as she is tired and would like to get some rest, and you know the hospital is not the best place to get that.

I hope and pray she will regain some strength and maybe just need to have the oxygen with I thought would be coming soon anyway.

I know I can count on you guys to say a little prayer for my sister, Cathy.  Thanks so much, Joni
