Sheri's Birthday

Sheri's Surprise.

Well I can't believe we're home already and I can't believe I'm typing this all over again.  So there.  But here we are didn't quite make it to Arizona.  We only made the first leg and came down with the flu, which was not fun believe me, I think I lost 10 lbs and we stayed 4 nights where we were only going to spend one.

However we did make it to my daughter's for her surprise birthday party.  That was our first stop on Jan 5th, her birthday was the 6th.  We arrived there in time to go to our grand daughter's basketball game, which they won.  They are CYO Champs 3 years in a row, now they are all in 6th grade.  Anyway the plan was that after the game I suggest we go and get a pedicure which Sheri is always up for, she did wonder why the girls were not coming.  They had to go home and help get the party ready.

We arrived back at the house and everyone was there and she was surprised.  Little did she know that was not the last surprise of the night.  My husband pulled me aside and told me there was a present of gloves with a car key inside and the car was in the garage, a Honda Civic, just what she wanted.  So as I hope you can see in the movie she was really surprised again and it was fun.  It was a good night, her hubby made lots of pizzas and the girls made a brownie birthday cake with whipped cream, just the way Sheri likes it.

My hubby had kind of a sinus condition so he didn't go to church, but we all went and when we got back had breakfast and we took off for Canyonville in Southern Oregon to stay for one night at Seven Feathers Casino, a really nice resort, before we headed over the dreaded snowy Siskeyous.  But that was not to be.  We had a nice dinner that Sunday when we got there and played the machines a while, went to bed and I woke up sick about 3:00am.  Had to call and extend our stay one night, and then for 2 more nights.  At least we had a nice place to stay.

I kept thinking maybe this is happening to keep us from going over that dangerous pass, who knows, but it worked.  We were just too wore out from being sick to do anything but come home for now.  We did get a good rate on the room for our points and enough gas to get us all the way home and more we can get when we go back.

We will be going back, maybe in February.  We came home to rainy, windy, snowy, icy, icky weather. Oh was I wishing I was in Arizona.  Most of that is gone now it is just very, very cold.

Well just thought I'd try to put a movie on don't know if it will work, so bare with me.

Later, Joni

It was very nice seeing the movie of your daughter's birthday.  I'm sorry you had to get sick on your trip, but like you said maybe there was a reason.  I know you are glad to be home for now.  'On Ya' -ma

You're right...it may have been better that you had to come back.  Obviously it was not the right time for you guys to go to Arizona.  Maybe next month.  Linda  http://journals.aol.com/lsfp1960/LindasWorld/

Well as I figured movie didn't work, but I'll figure it out someday.  At least I don't have to retype everything.  Joni
