Hearing Elevator -- The Black Keys

Guest Editor 9/22/06

Hi everybody... as posted to the AOL Journals main page and on the Message Boards, here are the Guest Editor's Picks for September 22nd, 2006:

Guest Editor Jennifer is an editor at AOL Diet & Fitness. That's right: fitness and computer use are not necessarily opposites. She blogs at The Marathon Training Blog. Check out her weekend picks:

* The Better Body Blog
* Triathlete, Goddess!
* I Ate A Pie
* The Running Chick With the Orange Hat
* Diet Blog
* Slice

Don't forget, if you want your own chance at being a Guest Editor, or if you have a blog you want me to see for a possible feature, send me an e-mail at JournalsEditor@aol.com. Please don't forget to include a link to your blog. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Thanks -- Jeff

    I was astonished and appalled last night to find that a piece of artwork that I posted on my journal led to me being TOSSED. The painting sold for ten thousand dollars and was a stylized flower painting resembling a woman's vulva. Without any of my own feedback, the entry was deleted.  Michalangelo's David shows a penis. Would that be TOSSED?  Flipping through J-land I find a simply astonishing amount of things that are at least as offensive as the prude who deleted my flower painting entry. I am not a pornographer, I am a Quaker mother who homeschools her children, delivers babies, and is a rather gentle soul. This violation of my journal--over art--hurts me deeply. I have over three years invested in my journal. It hurts to think of moving.

    Lots and lots of nice pointers on good health and longer living --if you're into that sort of thing.

    Personally, I noticed a raindrop fall earlier, and, in my world, that's the perfect excuse to close the shades, lock the door, and curl up with a mountain of bacon, some cheeseburgers and a few beers.

    My idea of a marathon is when I watch both football games on Sunday.
