R9 Install, Journals Outage 4-6 AM 11/2/06

The time has come, my Journals comrades. That's right -- while America sleeps, the Journals team will be installing Journals R9 to production.

Please expect a Journals outage from 4-6 AM during the install. Also, the version of Journals that you saw if you happened to use Journals Beta (as mentioned in my earlier post) should be the standard version from this day forward.

For those of you that did not happen to test Journals in Beta today, the most dramatic changes are visual and shouldn't affect you one way or another.

And please, if you have any problems, mail me or leave them in the comments.

Sleep well ...

align=right or align=left probably never worked reliably.
In HTML mode, the preferred way of doing this would be to use the style attribute and float option.
Float can have the values = right or left.

    For example :
    Instead of  : <IMG align="right" src="..."/>

    Please use  : <IMG style="float:right" src="..."/>

    This works for me!
    Hope this is helpful.

Jeff, I tried again and initially, as before, the picture aligned left in the compose entry screen, but when I saved it, the text dropped back down to the bottom.  When I clicked on to the edit button and switched to html I noticed that there was a '/' in the code which wasn't there when I composed the original entry.  I deleted the slash and saved the entry.  Once again the text appeared on the bottom to the right of the picture, and when I edited and switched to html, the slash had reappeared.  We aren't putting the slashes in, but they keep on showing up.  Any clue as to whats going on?
(by the way, I'm doing all this on my private blog, I don't like to keep on editing my main journal once I post an entry)

Kathy -- take another look at your graphics code, specifically the "align=right" command. You've got two slash marks (these: //) after that "align=right", but before the >

    Like this: "align=right"//>

Lose those slashes and you should be back in the tall clover.

    just emailed you.

I can't get my graphics where I want them.  Took forever for me to learn a few little html codes and now they aren't working!  Yesterday I got the graphic to the right side with text beside it.  Today I can't get it to work.  What's going on?  Can it be fixed?  Am I going to have to learn new codes?

Since the change my Halloween entry for the 31st October does not appear under Previous Entries. I can see it on my journal, just looked at it but it is not listed under Previous Entries at all.
