Friday Blogplugs - 4/4

Hey folks,

Where did that week go by? It seems like just yesterday I was writing up one of these entries. Seems like I am aging real fast :). Should remind myself to stop and smell the flowers...

Anyway, onward...

First off, thanks to all the folks who contributed to Magic Smoke this week, especially Krissy and Val for hosting the game "What's the Caption? Wednesday". If any of you would like to host an activity (game/puzzle/contest) or would like to contribute to Magic Smoke feel feel to send email to journalseditor@aol.com.

Blogplugs for Friday

* standsbyriver who is a victim of child abuse writes about her mother's childhood.

* Robin has taken a lovely picture of a turtle. More pictures of a dragonfly and her daughter lugging tadpoles back from the pond. She has some good captions to go with her pics!

* Beth writes that even though we may not be as great as MLK, Kennedy or Lincoln, we can leave  a positive and lasting legacy within our own little circle of influence.

* Indigo has won her second Artsy Essay Contest by Judith Heartsong (congratulations!!). She also has an anniversary coming up (she won't tell what it is about :))

* mssingmysoldier is suggesting that people who have a Kindle (Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device), check out her friend's book.

* Christopher is complaining about some rough treatment at the hands of AOL customer service. The good news is that Chris is not giving up on AOL Journals :). Wondering if we will censor his post. No, we don't do that here..at least not on Journals.

* Dana will be walking in the Arthritis Foundation's walk on May 10th in memory of her mother, grandmother and in honor of all of those (including herself) who suffer from this terrible disease.

* Paul writes about the next ten movies from his list of 100 movies that he really likes. Hope I got this one right. I always manage to screw up Dan..er..Paul's write up :)

* Jimmy's satire engine is revved up for Friday! Love the last cartoon he has on this entry :)

* Ken posts that biofuels are not going to lead us to the promised land. It is doing more harm than good. Get your facts here. He also takes some time and words to reflect on the legacy of President Bush.

* Marie writes that Doubting Thomas wasn’t such a bad lad.

* Krissy wishes to share some April Fools jokes with you. She is also sad because John's mother is dying.

* monponsett is going to meet a 14 year old kid throwing 115mph fast balls in the nondescript town of Bourne, MA. Is she going to break a story ?

* John, who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant has his first dentist's appointment in 2 years.

* Tawnya requests us to pray for the family of SSgt. Matt Lupin, whose remains were found in Iraq.

* Leona blogs about how St. Patrick's day was celebrated at AOL, Mountain View. See if you can spot me in one of the pics! Malika is in there too..

* And finally we come to Rosemary's journal  called "inspiration". She is a life coach, who helps to get the best out of you. You will be hearing from her on Magic Smoke later on in the week.

Contests & Trivia!

* Weekly sentence with Val. This week's letters were SPRING. The winners are here.

* Wednesday Word of the Week with Dawn. This week she highlights latin words in situ, vox populi and of course carpe diem.

Lights, Camera and Action!

* Krissy's JLand Photo Shoot entries for the subject "jewelry, buttons & pretty little things".

* Marie's AOL Community Photo Challenge, judged and fun  entries for the subject "Aged".

* Martha has started a photo challenge called "Friday Photo Fun". Subject is Freaky Friday, Fun Friday, Famous, Funky or just plain Friday Favorite.

* Monica invites photo submissions for the title "Every Picture Tells a Story". Give us the story behind the picture.

--

Thanks again for the blogplugs this week. Don't forget to tag your best entries with "blogplugs". If you want to be a Guest Editor or have some interesting (or useful) blogplugs, send your submissions to JournalsEditor@aol.com and we'll review them.

~Vish
