FATHERS' DAY - Tim Russert: RIP!

I admire and appreciate Tim Russert of Meet the Press. Although he has so recently died, I speak in the present tense because my admiration and appreciation of this man continues. Since Sunday morning Mass schedule prevented me from seeing Meet the Press "live," I was neveertheless quite familiar with the program and with him from news clips and other sources. I esspecially appreciate his openly professing his Catholic faith in an endearing manner. He proudly affirmed his Catholic grade school and Jesuit high school education, and the specific teachers who influenced his life. On this Fathers' Day, I am especially moved by his "piety," the virtue that bespeaks family loyalty and love for one's father. He articulated it in Big Russ and Me that I have now put on my reading list.
