I'm Back

Wow!!=-O...it's bn a long time since my last entry. Now, let's see :-\....we all know how busy we all got during the holidays & I hope that everyone had reccuperated by now.

Well, what have I bn up to all this time??  TONS!!!(LOL)  Of course, I'm still crafting...practically everyday.  It's what I do.=D  I've also recently joined a couple more online & offline groups and/or charities.  I'll b posting those links here for all of u ladies that might want to take on more things in ur ALREADY BuSy, BuSy life.(LOL)

One group I belong to is called Angels For Nursing Homes & it's run by a very sweet lady name Mattie Whitehead.  It's a very  simple task,(yet so much FUN) 8)  of making little simple things such as: pins, magnets, ornaments, or bookmarks.  They can b made in any wy u want: crochet, xx stitch, plastic canvas, wood arts, & even foam arts.  Right now, we r working on an Easter Project.  I'm making colorful eggs & crosses out of PC.  I'll probably combine both as pins & magnets. Mattie needs to have them by March 18, & she'll distribute them to nursing homes thru out.

The 2nd charity I belong to is called PROJECT LINUS.  I belong to a local chapter in my area, but they r available pretty much worldwide.  This one's a bit more time consuming since they pretty much only take blankets.  Altho, I think they do take store bought ones, but u can't quote me on that.  It's sad for me to admit this, but to tell the truth...I haven't really done much for this charity ;(.  I do have 2 little blankets I've crochet couple mos. ago, (w/ the intention of donating them) but I just got so busy w/ the holidays & crocheting blanket's a bit too much for my hands.  Oh well, I'll try & pick it up again soon.

The 3rd group I belong to...I just joined last nite.  This group's just TOTALLY for FUN!=D  It's called 2005 Ornaments Xchange-it pretty much say what the group is all about.  I've read some of the group's postings & looked @ their pics...they look like they r having so much fun doing this & so I decided to ADD one more group in my schedule.(LOL)  I invite y'all to check this one out-it might b just for some of u out there!=D

I've also just started back up an offline CRAFTING CLUB here in my area.  I was busy for couple of mos. trying to put it 2gether, making flyers & giving them out to ppl I know around town.  We had our 1st meeting last Wednesday & we had so much FUN!=)  There r still a lot of ironing out to do; but we plan on getting 2gether 2x's a month, (every other Wednesdays).  Most get 2gether will b done here @ my home.  So far, we consist of 5 ladies, (including myself) but I'm hoping a few more will join.  Linda, (a family friend) was here for our 1st meeting & said that she might know a lady or 2 who might come on our next meeting to check it out.

Well ladies, I think this is enough for now.  I'll b posting those links, y'all may check them out, & maybe I'll see some of u there.=)  Happy Crafting!=D

The Show

Morning World!:-) It's bn a while since my last entry...bn really busy, busy, busy!=D
Well, let's see what I've bn up to. I went to do my show last wkend. I didn't do too bad, but I didn't do as well as I xpected either. I sold all of my patriotic stuff & some ornaments. My crochet items didn't do too well, (a lot of vendors were selling them also) only had one person buy a set of scarf & beanie cap...& it was my aunt!(lol=D) Lucky for me, I didn't have any time left to make more.(lol) Was only able to make about 8 sets.  I was talking to Cathy about it & she said, "Now I have them to give away for gifts."(lol)  That is so true & I know whoever gets them will truly appreciate it coz it's really starting to get cold here.  The fog is now setting in our area.

My ddtr turned 15 this passed Monday & I was able to take her shopping some as a B-Day gift w/ the $$$ I made from the show.=)  I guess, I was xpecting 2 much-that I would make tons; enough to pay for Xmas this yr.(lol)  Oh well,...like I said this was my 1st show & a learning xperience for me.  I  was @ least still a bit lucky coz I was able to make some $$$ & had a few orders from Ebay when I got back coz the lady beside me didn't sell anything @ all-I felt so bad for her!=(

Monday, I made my ddtr's fave pasta dinner & made an ice cream cake for her B-Day.  She had a few friends come over.  Yesterday, I found out that my Godson will b celebrating his Birthday, (this wkend)  wy earlier than the correct date. (lol)  I'm not xactly sure y, but I'm whipping up something "special" for him.  I'm making him an elephant bank, (out of pc) & then have my hubby put in some $$$.  It's so cute!!=)  My SIL also just had a B-Day & I'm giving her a tissue box cover w/ some matching magnets.  They had just bought a condo & I think that'll make a cute gift for her.

Thanxgiving is next wk...so, I'm preparing for that & of course Xmas right after that.  I posted the wreath I made for Thanxgiving...I think it turned out beutifully; if I should say so myself.(lol)  I'm making myself a Xmas wreath also & will post for y'all to see.  I'm not xactly sure yet what'll b doing for Thanxgiving.  We either spend it here or @ my parents, but w/ the show...my Mom & I haven't discussed it yet.(lol=D)

Well, I think that's about all for now.  I'll b here getting ready for the holidays...still crafting; always adding ppl to my gift list.(lol)  I've bn wanting to add some recipes, crafting tips, etc...in here.  Hopefully, I can do some of that just b4 the holidays.  T-t-f-n!!

A Wet, Cozy Day!

A cozy good morning to all!:-) We r having a very cold, wet...yet cozy day here in Cali for @ least da next 2 days. I luv it!:-D I can sit on my rocking chair in da l. room or stay in bed w/ my cozy comforter, watching TV, & crocheting. Which is what I've bn doing da last couple of days. Always, always, CRAFTING!(lol=D)

Well, I have a busy day ahead of me.  2day's my hubby's B-Day!  I'm making his fave pasta dinner...spaghetti & meatballs!  I know, it doesn't take much to please my man!(lol)  I'm also baking him a cake:  a triple choco fudge cake w/ creamy milk choco frosting...YUMM!;D  I'm using da mix from a box 2day tho coz Betty Crocker cake mix is on sale here for $1.00.

For his gift, I crocheted him a set of beanie hat, pair of mittens, & a scarf.  I'm just finishing up da beanie & I'll b ready to wrap it up!  I know he'll luv them!=D  I made a couple beanies over da wkend to sell @ da show & he had asked me if I could make him one for when we go up da snow.  My ddtr & him luvs to go snowboarding.  So, I thought to make it for his B-day & I just added more w/ the mittens & scarf.(lol)  I'll post a pic just as soon as I can!

well, let me tell u a bit about our birthday tradition.  In da Philippines, we have a tradition when it's ur B-day:  u have to have some kinda long pasta to eat.  Da saying goes:  Eat long pasta for long life!=D  So, in my family we ALL have our own fave long pasta.  As y'all know, my hubby likes spaghetti & meatballs.  My ddtr likes chicken chowmein.  And as for  me, I luv fettuccini alfredo w/ either clams or shrimps.  Well, that's a bit of lesson about our tradition.=)

As for our anniverssary:  I had a GREAT day! I DID EVERYTHING I WANTED-WHICH TO B LAZY ALL DAY!(LOL=D)  My ddtr & her friend made us a huge breakfast: bagel, scrambled eggs w/ cheese, bacon, coffee, & juice.  It was enough to hold us til we went out to dinner.  We had Chinese & went to Baskin Robbins for dessert!=)

That's all for now!  Have a great day everyone!

This Important Date

Morning world!:-) I've bn really busy to write, but I'd like to tell y'all a bit about myself & my family 2day.

This is an important day for me...It's my 16th ANNIVERSSARY!=D  Actually, my hubby & I got married 14 yrs ago, but we also COUNT the 2 yrs that we were 2gether b4 we got married.  We got married on the exact date that we 1st got 2gether so long ago!

We were high school SWEETHEARTS...barely turned 17 when we started going out.  After we got out of high school, my hubby & I decided to moved in 2gether.  We were living 2gether for almost a year when I knew I wanted to have a baby-I was 20.  Even back then, I always pretty much get what I want.  I got pregnant & had my ddtr a month b4 I turned 21, (Samantha) my pride & joy!=D

Anywy, even after Sam was born-we still didn't get married.  Many of my hubby's side of the family would make snide remarks & look down on us coz of that.  They didn't want me for their son coz they know I wouldn't put up w/ their CRAP!!>:o  I have really long issues w/ my in laws, but that's another story for some other time.

Let me just tell everyone out there; that both of our families r from Asian decent-but my hubby & I grew up here.  Altho, we both came to the USA when we were both very little; his side of the family still carries out a lot of the traditions & cultures.  Which 4 me; is the total opposite.  Altho, my family knows how the traditions & cultures work-we don't always believe to follow the old wys.

Sorry y'all, but I'm going to have to cut this short.  After all; it's my anniverssary!(lol=D) I'm not sure what we r going to to do yet.  There r a couple of things we were planning on doing, but it's really gloomy & wet out 2day.  I don't really feel like dressing.  Mayb, we'll just stay-in.  My ddtr said her & her friend would cook us up a big breakfast.  We also have tons of movies to watch; that my Mom let us borrow & mayb, just get some take out later on.  For now, I'm going to watch some TV, enjoy my cup of coffee, & finish up the beanie hat I started crocheting last nite!  Happy Sunday Everyone!=D

A Start of a Hectic Week!

Morning all!:-) The wk started out pretty hectic over here. My Mom came over very early on Monday to drop the babies here...she was to go to Sacramento for a funeral; which is about 3 hrs away from me. My half brother's grandmother passed away.

Anywy, thank goodness that the kids weren't w/her!! :/  But she had stopped by to get coffee & I'm still not xactly sure what had happened...& she had gotten in2 a car wreck!=o  I haven't had a chance to c it yet, but it must've bn pretty bad coz her car wouldn't start.  I also over heard her on the phone while talking to her ins. agent that part of the car's suspension had come off.

This is were things kinda get fuzzy.  She said that when she was turning to make a left to go to Starbucks that there were no cars & then out of nowhere this car was coming & they hit each other.  For some reason, she felt that it was her fault & that's what she had told her ins.  The other guy on the other hand, didn't have a driver's lic or insurance!  He didn't want the cops involve.  He had given my Mom his name & address; stating that he'll pay for the damage-eventho, it's her fault & just rushed off!:0  I guess, she must've bn shaken up & just let the guy go.  When she got back here; she had spent some time on the phone w/ her ins. & the car shop where they had towed the car.  Her ins. would only cover $500.00 in damage.  We're still not sure how much everything will cost; but she feels like it would b more than $500.  She thinks it'll b $1,000.  She's thinking about calling up the guy to c if he would b true to his word & pay for the damage on her car.  But she also have this feeling that he doesn't have any $$.  She said that he looked like a druggie or an alcoholic.  So, this is the part I get confuse; I keep asking her is she sure that it was her fault?  I mean, the guy doesn't have any business driving anywy-no license or ins. & worst of all...he doesn't want the cops involve!  Well, she still say, it's her fault.

I suggested she take my car for a few days, but she refused.  Don't know if she's nervous to drive back home w/ the babies.  Anywy, they had waited here til my stepdad got off work.

2day I have to go over there to help her out w/ a few errands.  The kids have swimming classes this afternoon that can't b rescheduled & she had paid for it already.  But we also have to go talk to her ins. personally.  So, I'll go w/ that since it takes an hr & 1/2 each wy to get there & back.

I still have a lot of crafting I want to get done.  The show's in 4 wks!!  Catch y'all later!

Cheery Morning To All!=)

Morning, one & all!;-) It's bn a while since my last entry. As of right now, I'm waiting on my 2nd cup of freshly brewed coffee-it's a bit chilly here this morning, but I like the change.=D

As I've mentioned to some of my frenz & family (on & offline) I haven't bn feeling myself lately.  My thyroid test came back last wk & my count wasn't too good.  My doctor had prescribe a higher dosage & I've bn taking that for the last 4 days.  I have to admit that I DO feel much better!!=D  I still get worn out thru out the day, but at least, I'm not worn out ALL the time.  Besides, my doctor said it'll take some time for the meds to fully work in my body & that is y I have to take it everyday.  She wants me to take another blood test in 6 wks & see her.

My wkend was GREAT!!=D  I had the babies w/ me while my parents did something for themselves.  It's so much fun to have little ones running around again & they were both really good..NEVER CRIED OR FUSS!!  Late afternoon on Saturday, we 2k them for a walk to the nearby park.  Angelica luvs going to the park!  They all do @ that age!(lol)  We came back & had dinner.  My ddtr had just put some chicken nuggets & fries in the oven-that was dinner.  I know it's not very healthy, but I started on the laundry & my ddtr was nice enough to help w/ the babies all wkend & make dinner too!(lol=D)  Sunday, we just played in the house  & the garage most of the day.  Tried to finish my laundry; while my ddtr did her homework.  Early that evening, we went downtown, (for a walk-about 4-6 blocks away).  We went to Mike's Market to pick up a few things for dinner.  It's funny how xcited the kids can b going grocery shopping.(lol)  When we got home, my ddtr helped put away the groceries & then helped me w/ dinner; while my hubby watched the babies.  We had spaghetti, g. bread, & green salad.  We watched what was left of a football game.  Then, I gave Angelica a bath & got her ready for bed.  We all laid on my bed, watching LAW AND ORDER: CI while we put the babies to sleep.

Around 11am yesterday, my Mom came over to pick up the babies, but we also hung out for a couple of hours.  We went to walmart & I had bought some lace for the wreaths I'm planning to make for the holidays.  I've already started on a Thanxgiving wreath; which is almost done.  We then had lunch @ Ryan's.  My Mom had NY steak & I had the breaded shrimps.  It was YUMMY!=D  We didn't realized the time, it was 3:20 & my ddtr will b home from school in about 20 more mins.  My Mom dropped me home & then she had to leave-since she still has to drive an hr & a half; she doesn't want to get stuck in traffic.  At home, I rushed to put my roast & veggies in2 the oven.  My hubby usually get home by 6:30pm or so.  Made my ddtr a quick snack & folded the laundry I had in the dryer.(lol)

Today, I'm catching up on emails, postings, working on finishing my wreath & making a couple Xmas baskets.  I'm also finishing my last 2 loads of laundry.  For dinner, I'm making breaded porkchops w/ sautteed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, & green salad.   Until next entry.  TTFN!

My Week

Hello All,:-) I don't know how well y'all b able to read this, but I thought I'd try a different color this time. I always pick something pink or purplely-those r my fave colors!:-D
Anywy, I've had a pretty busy week. Getting up @ 4:30 every morning, running errands, paying the bills, crafting for the show I'm doing in November. I know I mention that a lot, but I'm really xcited & it's my 1st one!!:-\ And it feels like it's coming up so fast-it's already the end of Sept.!!:-! I'm also trying to keep the house semi-clean, but not doing too well on that..since I have all my crafting S--- everywhere!lol:-D Oh well, as long as my family is fed & they have clean underwears to wear..right?

Well, I had a pretty good day 2day.  I met a friend of mine @ 8am for coffee.  All my friends try to this @ least once a month.  I guess, we r all just coffee junkies!
Anywy, Teresa works @ a salon right across from this very cozy coffee house that was just built here in town early this yr. Which works great for us!:-D We chatted & drank our coffee for a while. Then, found out she didn't have a customer til 10, so I asked her if she could do my nails & she did. It's the one luxury I let myself have once or twice a month...instead of shopping...I get my nails done!lol=D I've had long nails since I was 13 & I can't do anything w/o them. I'm the other wy around.(lol) Most ppl I know can't work w/ long nails...I have to have them otherwise the tip of my fingers r sore & it feels weird to me.  I can even do my beadings w/ them!=D

I went to chat w/ Cathy &  Jan for our chat day; which I was about 30 mins. late, but I had emailed Cathy earlier to let her know I'll b late.

After that, I worked on my Snowmen Divider Screen; which I finished-just need to glue the scarves, hats, etc.  I have another 2 Bible Cover orders & started on making my patterns, but this is the 9th or 10th times I'm making this & just tired of it!(lol)  But the ladies have paid for them already, so I have no choice.

I think that's about it.  I'm going back to working on the covers.  Have a great weekend everyone!!=)

PS-This is Angelica, (my niece) @ 8 mos.  She's 17 mos. now.  I made the frame.

Feeling Happy

My First Entry

Well, let me start by saying that we've had our first rain...it's refreshing!!(lol:-D) Considering how hot it's bn. It's all cloudy & chilly that for the 1st time we actually turned off our air conditioner!:-) So, I've decided to make some homemade beef/veggies/barley soup...threw it all in the crock pot & eat it thru out the day. Hmmm...smells good!(lol:-D) Mayb, if I don't feel too lazy, I'll bake some meat pie for dinner to go along w/ the soup.

I've bn keeping a "personal" journal ever since I was in high school. The oldest journal I have was back when I was 17. I have boxes of them that I go thru every now & then...it's kinda neat to read things you've bn thru over the years. The journals I have r the handwritten ones. I remmber 3 yrs ago when my ddtr was just 11; we had gone to walmart to buy another journal for myself...when she had asked one also. Altho back then, she never really wrote anything in there, but now that she's 14...I c her write more often.(lol)  We keep a box of stickers, stencils, etc, to use to decorate our journals.  We also have a box of gel pens to use...depending in our moods.

So anywy, the whole point of this is...I was talking to Cathy yesterday & we got to talking about journals.  She was starting hers & of course, I mentioned that I've bn keeping one for yrs.  She asked me if I share them & I said, "no, coz those r my personal thoughts & like to keep them private.  Well, she had suggested I start one that I can share w/ my family & frenz.  I thought that was such a great idea =D & here I am now!=)  I plan on sharing w/ y'all my work, (crafting=D) recipes, jokes, tips, some gripes, this & that...so, hope y'all stay tune & follow it up!  I'll catch up w/ y'all later.  Enjoy!!

PS-since I collect Betty Boop items; the first pic of my work I'm sharing is my Betty Boop Boutique tissue cover!  Isn't she adorable!=D
