Another Week, another trip to the Bay Area for Userplane!
Coming off of a trip up to the Bay Area to exhibit at Web2.0 Expo, Userplane returned to San Francisco with a slightly different purpose in mind. Exhibiting at AdTech: SF, Userplane once again increased its brand awareness and presence in the social websphere, and gained an untold amount of exposure by depleting it's stock of popular mousepads! As summed up by a satisfied booth visitor in a follow-up email: "the girls at my office love the mousepads ; ) Thanks!" Just one shining example of how Userplane is getting it's name out there on a daily basis! Where's your Userplane mousepad? On a more serious note however, the conference went really well. The show seemed more crowded than last year and it seems like more and more people are aware of who we are and what we do. Userplane was able to meet a lot of new potential clients in interactive advertising, as well as in the applications realm, and we should be seeing the benefits of a great show in the coming weeks. Thanks to our media sales, and business development team who were able to make it out, as it wouldn't have anything without you! If you missed out on seeing us at the past few events, you'll have your chance to score a mousepad in the coming months as I'm sure we'll be exhibiting around the country! Stay tuned for information on where to find us next! DC

Userplane Experiences SXSW - Or Is It SXSW Experiences Userplane?
This past weekend, the annual festival known as South by Southwest (SXSW) wrapped up in Austin, TX - and although I wasn't there to experience the entirety of it all, Userplane definitely was there to represent at the Interactive Conference, held at the beginning of the weeklong event. Unsure of what to expect, I, along with team of Userplaners, setup a booth and enjoyed what we could get out of the capital of the Lone Star state. The people were friendly, the food delicious (mmmm bbq!) and the nightlife was great! SXSW badges were in sight everywhere we went. All of the bars had parties nightly, every theater had long lines, and the vibe of the city was electric. And although the last days we were there were filled with amazing displays of thunder, lightning, and rain, everyone still seemed to be having a good time. But how was the actual Interactive Conference you may ask? It was awesome! Within the first hour of opening we had already given away over a 100 media kits, along with hundreds of our signature smiley mouse pads! The demand and interest in Userplane applications was definitely there, and people who were first introduced to Userplane at SXSW are still contacting us on a daily basis! It was also nice seeing some current clients, along with some fellow AOLers. Hopefully our experience there will translate into an additional niche of users and sites for us to expand on, and we can continue to grow at a phenomenal pace. While SXSW may be over for now, we anxiously await a Userplane encore next year - so be on the lookout for us! :) DC

One-Stop Shop For All Your Community Needs.
This project took us a little longer than original thought, but well worth it. Userplane released today a one-stop shop for all your community needs, The Instant Install Community Page. A simple yet effective page that allows you to create an instant community in roughly 32.5 seconds (I keep trying to push that number down, but I type slow.) With this new community page we also extended the release of our Userlist product to everyone (previously only available to certain partners.) For the readers who don’t know what Userplane is or what our products do, I provide you with a simple breakdown … “Your Site + Userplane = Instant Community.”If you can handle copy and paste, you can have an instant community! Complete with chat rooms and instant messaging capabilities. Start expanding your site by creating a community to enhance your users experience TODAY! If you have nothing better to do at least check out the site and see the fancy flash animation at the top of the page…

Something for the Political Enthusiasts
From www.evansformayor.com: "You
will have the opportunity to join Philadelphians from all over the city
in a discussion about the future of our city and ask Dwight Evans
questions via text through a chat application or via video through the
use of personal webcams... On the live webchat
you will be able to discuss with Dwight how to make Philadelphia the
safest big city in America, how to improve education, and how to bring
an end to the “pay-to-play” culture of corruption that has held a grip
on our city for far too long." Userplane is very
excited to see initiatives like politics and public policy utilize
Userplane tools for live events. We definitely hope to support this
community and see more of these implementations pop up! We'll be
grabbing some screenshots if anyone is interested in this kind of apps
deployment. Let us know! :)

Bring On The Heat
Things have been slow in the Userplane blog world, but that’s about to change. Endless hours are being spent laboring with AOL on new and exciting features. These features will benefit all things Userplane… at least that is what I’m told. We are working inside an office huddled together for warmth because temperatures barely hit 50 degrees inside the confines of Userplane (servers trump personal comfort.) The only light I have is coming from my 1989 CRT monitor. It feels like I’ve been captured in a new TV series combining The Office and Survivor. So believing in what I am being told gives me hope that when our features and products are done they might, just maybe, turn the heat on! I have officially run over my allotted time for online activities and must cut this entry short, but keep an eye out for new Userplane goodies to come your way. Stay Tuned...
