From One Mother to Another

March 31, 2008 marked the third year since the senseless death of Terri Schiavo. I have not forgotten! I was told that someone had made the comment that since Terri Schiavo has been dead for three years why don't I turn all my attention to cases such as Lauren Richardson's.

I have but one answer:

If everyone who fought to save Terri Schiavo from her court ordered execution suddenly stopped reminding the public of the injustice Terri and her biological family [the Schindlers] suffered at the hands of a county probate judge, there would be no way to stop the wanton killing of others who have been judged on their quality of life.

Yes, my heart goes out to Lauren, Edith [her biological mother], and Randy [her biological father] , just as it would go out to any one mentally pushed to destroying ones own child as Edith has thus far decided should be her daughter's fate.. This is not a case of a son-in-law seeking to destroy the life that was created inside Mary Schindlers' womb.....The Lauren Richardson  case is about a mother, who like all mothers who love the children they bear, having to accept her failures as well as her acomplishments as a mother, and the bearer of human life.

As a mother who raised six daughters, and lost one of them at the age of 22 years, my heart goes out to Edith. When my daughter was suddenly, without warning, taken from me my heart was burdened. And I continue to think back to times, as a mother, I could have did things a little differently. But thinking back does not, and cannot, bring my daughter back.

I can't tell Edith what to do. She is Lauren's mother. She brought Lauren into the world. But I can tell her that if my daughter had lived, I would have protected her right to the life I had given her without thinking. Because I know how much my daughter loved her life.

My daughter left no child but if she had brought a baby into the world as did Lauren, after her accident- I would still be thanking God until this day for both lives.

I will not involve myself in the case, because the one who gave Lauren life is in control of the life that was created inside her womb. I 'm a mother, too.Even though my own views on the issue are closer to those of Lauren's dad Randy. I would ask Edith to PROTECT the life she gave to Lauren, as she watches over the small child Lauren gave life to.

I'm sorry for your pain but your daughter is still alive and she needs you, Edith.

No Dignity in Forced Death

by Janice Sanford

Oregon is the only state that allows physician assisted suicide. The Death with Dignity Act was first passed by Oregon voters in November 1994.

The use of narcotics and other dangerous drugs is generally prohibited by federal law except when a doctor prescribes them for a “legitimate medical purpose.”  On November 5, 1997, then-Drug Enforcement Administrator Thomas Constantine had announced that since assisting suicide is not "a legitimate medical purpose[,] . . . prescribing a controlled substance with the intent of assisting a suicide" violates federal law.

However, on June 5, 1998, Clinton Administration Attorney General Janet Reno partially overruled Constantine’s decision.  She agreed that "adverse action" might be warranted "where a physician assists in a suicide in a state that has not authorized the practice under any conditions, or where a physician fails to comply with state procedures in doing so.”  Nevertheless, she said federally controlled drugs could be prescribed to kill patients when legal under state law.
http://www.nrlc.org/press_releases_new/release052604.html

Assisted suicide is against federal law but not state law.

In Oregon during 1998-2006, 86,047 Oregonians who suffered from the same underlying diseases died. Of these, 85,755 Oregonians died naturally. The other 292 people died as a result of Oregon's Death With Dignity Act. Which is to say they died after "ingesting" a lethal dose of drugs, that had been prescribed by a doctor.

Oregon's Death with Dignity Act legalizes physician-assisted suicide, but specifically prohibits euthanasia, where a physician or other person directly administers a medication to end another's life.

In 2005, about 1 in 800 Oregonians' deaths resulted from physician-assisted suicide.

Oregon's Revised Statutes specify that physician assisted suicide, under the Death with Dignity Act "does not constitute suicide, mercy killing or homicide under the Law."
http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/pas/ar-index.shtml

The time it took the 292 Oregonians to die ranged from 5 mins to 8.5 hours. These 292 Americans were mentally and physically able to decide and carryout their plans to die byway of assisted suicide. But how many of the 292 would be alive today if they had not drank the lethal drugs? I ask this question because some of those who received a prescription didn't use their 'poison' until the following year.

In 2004, poisoning suicides accounted for 5,800 of the 32,439 deaths that occurred that years as a result of people committing suicide, without physician assistants.

A few weeks ago I was surfing the net and come across a site with a video that documented the death of one Oregonian woman's physician-assisted suicide.

It was both the saddest, and the sickening thing I had ever wittiness.

It showed the woman the day of her death dancing, laughing, and enjoying her life. Among those present were some pro-deaths. When it came time for her to drink the lethal drugs she climbed into bed and told everyone how wonderful it was not only hearing the music but dancing the polka. She said how she wished she could dance on but the time had come for her to say good-bye. As she drank the deadly mixture, one pro-deather standing next to the bed kept telling her how good she was doing. Three minutes later the woman was in a deep coma. Five hours later she was dead.

Watching this I thought how could anyone stand silently bye and watch a loved one end their own life. Then it hit me those standing nearest the woman, urging her on to end her life were not family members. They were pro-deathers getting high off of watching 'another' physician-assisted suicide.

The Oregon woman who requested that the physician write her a prescription for a lethal drug did commit suicide. Though she was responsible for her death, she alone was not morally responsible for her death.

"Death with Dignity suicide" and "suicide by cop" have two important thing in common: cause and effect.

The "suicide by cop" victim relies on a cop to help him commit suicide.

The "Death with Dignity Suicide" victim relies on a doctor to help him end his life.

The big difference, between the two, being police officers are forced to help their victims commit suicide , and doctors have a choice of whether or not to assist in their victim's suicide.

This is where morals comes in to play.

I'm sure most of the readers have heard the saying, "what is legally right is not always morally right." Today, we are experiencing the fallout from laws that have no moral value.

It is the opinion of this writer, that assisted suicide in the name of "Death with Dignity" has no place in a civilized society.

By allowing state government, through its laws, to provide the tools for "assisted suicide" we are allowing the mind set of those who believe in the doctrine of "inequality among men" to thrive.

Suicide, whether or not it's physician asisted, is the needless waste of human life.

what do you think about the death with dignity act in cases were they are terminally ill & in alot of pain ?

I believe that if a person is terminal that with the 'right doctor' his/her life can be less painful and more enjoyable. I believe, instead of looking for reasons for why we should help people die, that we, as members of a freedom loving -society devoted to the high idea of 'equality among men', have a duty to look for reasons that have the potential to give the healthy and the unhealthy individuals the desire to live.

Morphine-The Angels of Death's Weapon of Choice

by Janice Sanford

In the article, "Schiavo, Cruzan Cases Yield Valuable Lessons in Caring," author Paul Kleyman relates a story told by Mary Labyak, director of The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, where Terri Schiavo spent the last five years of her life. Labyak, whose father died six years earlier in the same room and bed as Schiavo, sees herself as an advocate for honoring people's end-of-life wishes but could not prevent her father from being "one of the most overtreated, extraordinarily treated elderly men in America." The decision to treat him rested with Labyak's mother who insisted on treatment.

Did Labyak's determination to keep Terri Schiavo under her control [by-way of her hospice]until she was forced to die have anything to do with the death of her own father?

Did Mary Labyak appoint herself Terri's "Angel of Death"? Was Schiavo forced to die " in the same room and bed" as Labyak's father for some demented purpose known only to Labyak?

Would Mary Labyak have peferred forcing her father's death over giving him every chance to live? Apparently, not being able to overrule her own mother's decisions [concerning her father] Mary Labyak found some kind of pleasure out of being able to overrule Terri Schiavo's mother Mary Schindler.

Many people have asked the question "why was Terri Schiavo's case more important than the other cases where life support is removed?" I can only speak for myself but Terri's case was a 'first' for me. For years I had been under the impression that nursing homes and hospice facilities were getting my tax dollars so they could provide care to the old and disabled. Since the Terri Schiavo case, I have dug deeper into what really takes place to some unsuspecting souls who spend the last months and sometimes years of their lives under hospice care.

Death Angels in Hospice

One common method of hospice style euthanasia is to sedate the patient into a medically-induced coma and then either shut down the breathing through the over-administration of a narcotic like morphine or let the patient die of dehydration while in the prolonged coma (known as "terminal sedation")....

On January 30,2008, I was notified that my aunt was dying and if I wanted to see her before she did I needed to come right then. I got dressed and drove the thirty or so miles to my cousin's home where my aunt had been living. I cannot tell you the feeling that overcome me looking at the 55 pound form of my aunt laying in that bed. I set in a chair next to her bed holding her hands. She was burning up with a fever. I watched her as she tried to open her eyes. It was as if she was trying to tell me something. She was under hospice. But the hospice nurse wasn't there. My cousin gave her liquid morphine through a syringe. She said the hospice nurse told her to give the morphine to my aunt every 4-6 hours. I thought it strange that my aunt who was showing no signs of being in pain would be given so much morphine. Before I left my aunt's bedside she managed  to open her eyes but could not speak. Her breathing was labored. Having lost my own mother without getting the chance to say my goodbyes I left my aunt surrounded by her children. I got a phone call that my aunt had died the next day.

I saw no dignity in the way my aunt was dying. And I'm sure my aunt was fighting to stay alive. The sad thing is hospices don't exist to help a person to live. They exist to help them die....But of course once the deed is done they can always blame a family member for the "morphine overdose" that killed their loved one.

765.309 Florida Statute:  Mercy Killing of Euthanasia Not Authorized; Suicide Distinguished. -- (1) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to condone, authorize, or approve mercy killing or euthanasia, or to permit any affirmative or deliberate act of omission to end the life other than to permit the natural process of dying. (2) The withholding or withdrawal of life-prolonging procedures from a patient in accordance with any provision of this chapter does not, for any purpose, constitute a suicide.

458.326 Florida Statute: Intractable Pain; Authorized Treatment. -- (4) Nothing in this section shall be construed to condone, authorize, or approve mercy killing or euthanasia, and no treatment authorized by this section may be used for such purpose.

782.08 Florida Statute: Assisting Self-Murder. -- Every person deliberately assisting another in the commission of self-murder shall be guilty of manslaughter, a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s.775.082, s. 775.083 or s.775.084.

http://www.flsenate.gov/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=Ch0744/SEC3145.HTM&Title=->2003->Ch0744->Section%203145

Mercy killing ain't legal. Euthanasia is not legal. So why are the self appointed 'death angels' still walking free to force death on unsuspecting Americans?

A few years ago, if someone had told me that disabled Americans were being euthanized against their will- without their knowledge,  I would have flat-out-and-out called them "a liar." Back then, I had never heard the name Terri Schiavo.

Now, if someone were to walk up to me and say "hospice over doses people for the purpose of forcing them to die," I would believe them.

Before you sign your life away~ read the fine print. Before you give your loved one that morphine-check with a doctor who is not associated with any hospice.

When Did Michael Schiavo Call 911?

by Janice Sanford

Refusing to give up on the Terri Schiavo case, Gov. Jeb Bush has asked Pinellas prosecutors to sort out time discrepancies Michael Schiavo has provided regarding the hour he found his wife unconscious 15 years ago.<snip>"We are going to look into the circumstances surrounding the times," said [Bruce] Bartlett, who declined to label the review an investigation. "The governor has expressed concern over that aspect of the case."

Michael Schiavo has said he called 911 immediately after finding his wife collapsed on the floor of their home on Feb. 25, 1990. Though medical records indicate he called 911 about 5:40 a.m. that day, he told the Medical Examiner's Office recently that he found his wife about 4:30 a.m. <snip> Felos said it's impossible that 70 minutes elapsed before Michael Schiavo called 911. http://www.sptimes.com/2005/06/17/Tampabay/Schiavo_timeline_trou.shtml

In asking McCabe to look again into what put Schiavo in a persistent vegetative state, Bush had cited an alleged gap between when Schiavo's husband Michael found her and when he called 911. The governor had said the issue remained unsettled.

McCabe said, however, while such discrepancies may exist in the record, Michael Schiavo's statements that he called 911 immediately had been consistent.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/07/07/national/main707452.shtml

Let's Take Another Look!

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department's 1990 police report, that was rewritten in 2003 by Officer Phillip R. Brewer:

5:40 paramedics called for assistance
6:11 officers Phillip Brewer and Officer Rodney Tower[from Homicide] were dispatched
6:33 officers arrived at the Schiavo's Thunderbay apartment
8:55 investigation was completed

It took the St. Petersburg officers 22 minutes to reach "incident" address.

The police were called because of her [Terri Schiavo's] age and because the situation seemed unusual.- Police Report
According to the police report: He [Michael Schiavo] found her [Terri] unconscious on the floor and called paramedics.

According to the police report:  Terri's blood alcohol level measured at "less than 10", which a nurse described as being the bottom of the scale.

Note: Terri Schiavo had drink some kind of alcoholic beverage the night of her collapse. [But that's another story.] http://www.hospicepatients.org/police-report-02-25-90-terri-schiavo-collapse.pdf

The Autopsy

5:52 Paramedics began treating Terri Schiavo.
6:32 A pulse was documented.
6:46 Terri Schiavo arrived at Humana Hospital-Northside.
6:46 A measurable systolic blood pressure was recorded.
7:01 One hour after her initial collapse and after over 30 minutes of CPR, Terri's blood sample showed hypokalemia  [2.0 mmol/L, normal 3.5-5.0].  http://abstractappeal.com/schiavo/autopsyreport.pdf

Michael Schiavo's 1992 Testimony: says he found his wife collapsed at 5 a.m.

According to the medical records given to Dr. Jon Thogmartin [Pinellas-Pasco medical examiner] Terri collapsed at 6:00 a.m.

Attorney David Gibbs said Michael Schiavo "didn't call 911 until 5:40 a.m."

"The police department records indicate that I made the call at 5:40 on Sunday, February 25, 1990. I'll take their word for it." [Michael Schiavo, Terri the Truth, page 3]

The paramedics called the police for assistance at 5:40 a.m. -Police Report

Nowhere in the police report does it give any kind of indication that Michael Schiavo called 911 at 5:40 on Sunday, February 25, 1990.

not a law enforcement agency like most other 911 centers

If Michael Schiavo, or anyone else, had called 911 when Terri collapsed they would have reached "The Pinellas County Emergency Communications Center" the primary answering point for ALL 911 calls within the County. Which is " not a law enforcement agency like most other 911 centers."

HISTORY  [Pinellas County's 911]

An operator at her console.Pinellas County has had 911 since 1978. Over the years, the system has evolved many times. Originally the Sheriffs Office handled north county areas and the City of St. Petersburg the south. In 1987 the Pinellas County Emergency Communications Center was formed and assumed the role of 911 center for the central and northern portions of the County. A year later “Enhanced 911" was installed countywide. The most recent change to the system occurred in December 1991. The Pinellas County Emergency Communications Center became the primary answering point for ALL 911 calls within the County. Pinellas County is very unique because we are not a law enforcement agency like most other 911 centers, and we also dispatch for all the fire departments in the county.
http://www.pinellascounty.org/911/ourcenter.htm

The hospital records reflect that Terri Schiavo arrived there at 6:46
The paramedics called the St Petersburg Police at 5:40

This leaves little doubt that the 911 call was made to the  Pinellas County Emergency Communications Center sometime before 5:40 a.m.

This gives way to the questions: WHO'S LYING? Who wanted the public to believe the lie that "Michael Schiavo called 911 at 5:40, Sunday, February 25, 1990"? And. Why would transporting Terri Schiavo to Humana Hospital-Northside take possibly hours?

When efforts were being made to save Terri Schiavo's life, many mentioned that before George W. Greer became a judge that he was a Pinellas County Commissioner. There's more:

In 1984, Greer was elected to the Pinellas County Commission.   He was re-elected in 1988 and served as Chairman of that Board in 1987 and 1992.                                http://www.bioethics.upenn.edu/symposium/?pageId=1&subpage=290

Judge George W. Greer, as Pinellas County Commissioner George Greer had access to Terri Schiavo's February 25, 1990 Sunstar Ambulance records.

Pinellas County owns and operates the EMS service under the brand name SunStar. The ambulance license, patient records and all revenues belong to the County.

Like Judge W. Douglas Baird [who found Terri's Law unconstitutional], George Greer [who sentenced Terri Schiavo to die by starvation-dehydration] was involved in the Terri Schiavo case in 1990.
Notes:
July 3, 1990 - Judge W. Douglas Baird signs " Letters of Plenary Guardian" which declares " Michael Richard Schiavo duly qualified under the laws of the State of Florida to act as the plenary guardian(s) of Theresa M. Schiavo Incapacitated Person, and to act on behalf of the Incapacitated Person with full power to have care, custody, and control of the ward, to exercise all delegable rights of the law, and to take possession of and hold, for the benefit of said Incapacitated Person all the property of said Incapacitated Person, and of rents, income, issues, and profits from it..."    http://www.justiceforterrischiavo.us/timeline.htm

                                                                WHAT IF? [Speculation]
One has only to read the orders that both judges wrote to get a feel of the 'unprecedented' push behind their joint efforts to make sure that Terri Schiavo never got the chance to regain the abilityto tell what caused her to collapse. What if the cover-up was to protect the county from having to pay millions in damages caused by mistakes made by those operating Pinellas County's 911 system? What if there really was a conspiracy to kill one Theresa Marie 'Terri' Schiavo?

It seems: There has been nothing but lies coming out of the Pinellas County surrounding the Terri Schiavo case.

Someone should ask Bernie McCabe to explain why he keeps 'shying' away from anything to do with the real time that Michael Schiavo called 911.

"You guys have no credibility whatsoever ... it's all a bunch of propaganda and manipulated data aimed at confirming the lies of Michael Schiavo." -Jeff Donius (ILL)

"May shame follow all who passed lies off as truths in the Terri Schiavo case."
-Janice Sanford

The public hearing on Senate Bill 151 is scheduled for

Wednesday, January 23rd at 10am
Room 411 South in the Wisconsin State Capitol
This bill is in the Committee on Public Health, Senior Issues, Long Term Care and Privacy. It is vital for concerned citizens from all across Wisconsin to be at this public hearing. In addition, members of the committee can be contacted by phone as follows:

From Court ordered Killing To Physician Assisted Suicide

by Janice Sanford

Former Governor Booth Gardner filed a Death with Dignity Initiative with the Secretary of State on January 9, 2008.Compassion &Choices (national), Compassion & Choices of Washington (state), and the Death with Dignity National Center are also involved.

According to pro-deather Derek Humphry's site, "100,000 volunteer signatures [are] needed by
June 30 to get the initiative on the November ballot."

Derek Humphry founded the Hemlock Society.

The same pro-deathers that were at work in the Terri Schiavo case are now at work trying to push their pro-death agenda on the people of Washington state.

Ronald Cranford wrote in the summer 1998 issue of Concern for Dying that he foresees “that there may be extreme situations, and in the future increasingly common situations, where physician-assisted suicide may not only be permissible, but encouraged.” In a 1997 op-ed for the Minneapolis–St. Paul Star Tribune, Cranford advocated the starvation of Alzheimer’s patients.

Interestingly enough, WND reported that one of the two Schiavo doctors was a medical ethicist and proponent of euthanasia, Ronald Cranford. WND goes on to report that Cranford is a member of the board of directors for the Choice In Dying Society that promotes doctor assisted suicide. He was also a guest speaker at the Hemlock Society, now called the End Of Life Choices. http://www.gulfcoastnews.com/GCNopdeath_by_government.htm

George Felos, an internationally recognized legal expert in right-to-die cases, George Felos is best known as the attorney for Michael Schiavo.  He also successfully argued the landmark Florida case that helped establish an individual's constitutional right to refuse unwanted medical treatment, Guardianship of Browning.  Mr. Felos graduated from Boston University School of Law, has practiced in Pinellas County, Florida, since 1978, was a founding member of the National Legal Advisors Committee on Choice in Dying, and served as Board Chair of the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, the largest non-profit hospice in the world. He is also a classical pianist, yoga teacher, hospice volunteer, saltwater fisherman, and guest minister to various churches in his spare time.  http://www.dyingwithdignity.ca/worldconference06/homepage.html

"Felos ... was a founding member of the National Legal Advisors Committee on Choice in Dying, and served as Board Chair of The Hospice of the Florida $uncoast. Where did the phrase "choice in dying" come from? Well, there was an organization called the Euthanasia Society of America which changed its name to "Choice in Dying" which no longer exists - it merged into the "Partnership for Caring" which was founded by Ira Byock, MD. Mary Labyak was corporate Secretary and Treasurer of Partnership for Caring (now merged with Last Acts to form "Last Acts Partnership," the largest coalition of hospice industry lobbyists in the world).

[Update for 2005: Last Acts Partnership ceased its activities and all rights and copyrights to material produced by both Partnership for Caring, Last Acts and Last Acts Partnership were legally obtained by the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization which has never renounced the dark agenda of these successor organizations associated with the former Euthanasia Society of America! Since NHPCO represents the national policymaking leaders within the hospice industry, it can be stated with certainty that the hospice industry has clearly been infiltrated by euthanasia advocates and that many hospice leaders are promoting the euthanasia agenda. - Ron Panzer] http://www.hospicepatients.org/a-willingness-to-kill.html

The pro-death movement has put similar measures like Gardner's already directly before the voters once in Washington, in 1991,and in California, Michigan and Maine in the years since. And the movement has tried several times to have pro-death bills passed through state legislatures. To date all attempts have failed.

Like all pro-deathers Gardner hopes to chip away until all 'resistance' to physician-assisted suicide subsides. And like those before him who have attempted to put pro-death laws on the books, he seeks to turn our American culture into a culture of death......

“We don't need Booth and Dr. Kevorkian pushing death on us,” Doug said quietly about his father’s campaign. “Dad’s lost. He’s playing God, trying to usurp God’s authority.”
http://www.bioethicsinternational.org/?p=437

Reading that statement- I would say Doug~ from his heart~ gave us all an insight into the mind set of those individuals who not only seek to 'play God' with their own lives but also seek the right[through our laws] to 'play God' with the lives of others.

Forced Dying in the United States

by Janice Sanford

Anytime I see advertisement trying to sell Americans on "living wills" a picture forms in my mind. A not so pretty picture of a woman begging for her husband's life. A woman who did discuss end of life issues with her spouse of 52 years.

This notable case that many Americans have yet to hear about was going on during the Terri Schiavo case. The Hanford Pinette case resulted in less than a years of legal battles between Alice Pinette, who was convinced that her husband would get better, citing periods of responsiveness when he talks to her and other relatives, and an Orlando hospital, who in petitioning the court to have Mr. Pinette's life support removed stated "The patient is terminally ill and has no medical probability of recovering from his current condition. He is being kept alive by artificial means, which is contrary to his stated intentions in his living will."

Dr. Sanjay Muttreja and Pinette's pulmonologist Juan Herran agreed that Hanford Pinette's "condition was not likely to improve. And they said he probably will not regain the ability to make his own decisions." David L. Evans, Orlando Regional Healthcare's lawyer, earlier told the judge that Hanford Pinette "has done the hard work for us" by signing the living will. Orange Circuit Judge Lawrence Kirkwood ruled that Pinette's "living will must be respected as his last wishes."

More simply put Mr. Pinette ,unknowingly, signed his own death certificate [a living will] thinking that  his wife of over 50 years would still be in control of his fate. Believing that his wife Alice should have charge over any end of life decisions that needed to be made Hanford Pinette "included his wife as the health care surrogate in the living will. Plus, she had power of attorney over medical decisions on her husband's behalf. His wife says he wants to stay alive. That's why she wouldn't consent to taking him off life support."

Alice Pinette came to the conclusion that her husband wanted to live based on 52 yrs of living with him and sharing each others' deepest feelings:

"He is my lifelong partner. We've beenmarried for 52 years. If you take your time in asking the question, yes, he can tell you yes or no. To me that's killing the man, and I cannot do that and live with me. Thou shall not kill, and I cannot kill him I cannot do this and live with me myself]. When someone is talking to you, how can you do that?"   http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0411/23/acd.01.html

Those who sought to end Mr. Pinette's life were people [strangers] who had been around him for a few months, and had decided that his "condition was not likely to improve. And they said he probably will not regain the ability to make his own decisions." The hospital deliberately had the life of Mr. Hanford Pinette ended on "likely's" and "probably's"........

To me, the Pinette Case is proof that the 'old way' of handling sickness and death [handling things as we are faced with them] is far better than signing a piece of paper that has the potential to force one's death on them.

"I hope Mrs. Pinette will come to understand  why this was necessary . . . and will work with us to handle it in a private, dignified and graceful way," - David L. Evans, Orlando Regional Healthcare's lawyer  http://www.lawshaw.com/news_041124.php [Note: I find Evans statement "sick". There was nothing dignified about forcing Mr. Pinette to die.]

The Pinette Case was the first time a hospital had taken it upon itself to seek though the courts the right to  end a patient's life. Who's name will replace Alice Pinette's:

"I hope______________ will come to understand why this was necessary... and will work  with us to handle it in a private, dignified and graceful way,"

The issue of forcing wives, mothers and/or fathers to accept the forced death of a loved one is an issue that I take to heart. There is nothing in our American heritage that says "as medical advances are made- the life of the patient loses its value." Cases such as Terri Schiavo's [FL], Hanford Pinette's[FL], and baby Sun Hudson's[TX] have each helped strengthen the US pro-death movement. Unlike other right to die cases, not one of the three were in the process of actively dying -until they were removed from life-support.

Terri Schiavo's forced death took 13 days.

Hanford Pinette's forced death took less than an hour.

Terri Schiavo was starved to death without any attempt to feed her by mouth.

Hanford Pinette was "smothered" to death without any attempts being made to wean him from the ventilator before removing it.

It should be noted here that highly successful mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was reported by John Fothergill in 1744 but this technique fell into oblivion and was reintroduced with great success about 200 years later.

The history of mechanical ventilation extends over more than 450 yrs.  http://www.clinicalwindow.net/pdf/cw_issue_22_art2.pdf

My own son had a feeding tube [G-Tube] put in, in Nov. 1978.

The deliberate legal killing of Schiavo, Pinette, and baby Hudson had nothing to do with medical advances, and everything to do with killing those deemed unfit to live.

I have a suggestion: If medical advances are the reason for forcing death on those who's lives have been saved by ventilators, feeding tubes, and means of life support~ let us as American demand that all our tax-payer dollars being gobbled up by those in the medical field in the name of "research"  cease. The way it stands today we are being asked to foot the bills for a medical research system that has gone astray; that if not brought under control will succeed in researching humanity out of existence.

Three years after sentencing Theresa "Terri" Schiavo to die by starvation-dehydration sight unseen, Judge George Greer is transferred from probate/guardianship court to family court. He no longer judges guardianship cases. He judges divorce cases.

Subject: Terri Schiavo's Brain Scans are Fake

What Promise did Michael Keep?

A shunt is a tube inserted into the brain to reduce pressure caused by build-up of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain. These next two scans are to give the reader some idea of what a shunt looks like in a scan of the brain.

The thing that must be clarified from the beginning is Theresa Schiavo had an implant but it wasn't a shunt.

According to Michael Schiavo's November 19, 1993 deposition, case No. 90-2908-GD:
Q Okay. Tell me about Doctor Hosobuchi and his treatment of Terry?

A Well, the basic thing was we took her to California. He had some experimental stimulators that- he was placing in peoples' heads. There were some people that woke up. It's a whole protocol on it. I don't have it with me. But it would be very experimental. He put it in. He did some testing. There was no evidence of it working with Terry. The only thing it would do, when he turned it up passed a certain point Terry would just sit up, which was just motor response. She would just get real bright eyed because things were being stimulated. He wasn't thrilled about it because he didn't see any positive signs.

Q Was-- did he implant anything into her? Did he put anything in her head that remained?

A Yes.

Q Are they still?

A Yes.

Q What are they?

Page 26:

A Electrodes. They're platinum electrodes.

Happy New Year!

May the New Year hold for you
all your dreams come true.
May each day hold the key to hope,
and understanding too-
And may we each, in our own part
of the world, be more caring, and
less demanding.
May the New Year bring to you
Peace and comfort too-
Along with lessons learnt - - that love
and  understanding might lead your way -
With wisdom through the New Year,
as you live life breath by breath, and survive
life- day by day.
                      -Janice Sanford [December 31, 2007]

Happy New Year!

Dear Board Readers:
Wisdom takes on many faces and many voices. Each worthy -none less worthy because  they differ in their values ,and the worth they place on  worldly things, and even life itself. Consider the value that you place on your own life- for each man's life is his own treasure- worthy of respect. For the body of man may grow old and helpless in its worldly form-but  it is not the flesh that makes the man. Only when man can create from nothing the spirit that moves the man will science stand shoulder to shoulder  with nature's  God; until then only a fool would think to imitate what one has no knowledge of- though it lives inside of every man's flesh.
Happy New Year ..... Sincerely, Janice Sanford
