Euthanasia Movement Involved in Schiavo Case
by Janice Sanford
I was looking through old articles and comments, when I came across some interesting comments posted by the same individual(compashunit). Interesting because the person who wrote them was using the Terri Schiavo case to push for legalizing euthanasia .
The individual who posted these comments was never "ban" from my site. Guess he/she through that in doing so, at the time,it would discredit my site.
And because the comments combined draws such an ugly picture of the moving forces behind the Terri Schiavo case -I, again, give the author the floor. But not before I say:
"Killing an innocent disabled human being by way of a court order, regardless of the speed the execution is carried out, is nothing short of legalized murder."
The Mind set behind the pro-death Movement in the United states
You know, you're right.....it's a terrible way to die, to starve to death. So maybe now, after all of this, you all will join the fight and lobby to legalize euthanasia: "death with dignity". Because if this were legal in more than two states, it would really help this very situation we're in. If a court refused to order re-insertion of the feeding tube, the parents OR the husband could choose to have her physician inject her with a drug to make her go to sleep......forever. And then there would be NO suffering for her anymore. She wouldn't have to wither away for "one-to-two-weeks". You all should think about this and maybe research the reasons why people have been trying to get euthanasia legalized. Educate yourselves.
Why are you so afraid of death? It's a part of everyone's life, just like birth. You're overrun with emotion. It's clear in your typing. That's the whole problem here. Everyone is focusing on their emotions, and not on logic.
I have different standards than you think. I am trained in the law, and I think logically and objectively about each individual, special circumstance, and how the law applies to it. I do not let my personal beliefs cloud things.
The Supreme Court did not sentence her to death. They refused to get involved. They did not support either side. Chemical imbalance, people. People do not collapse from chemical imbalances induced by strangling, because they do not coincide. And for the past fifteen years, the abuse allegations you claim have been taken to court numerous times, and dismissed.
You have no idea what the euthanasia argument is. You're not being objective. When it comes down to what we have here, where clearly no one is going to force her feeding tube to be reinserted, and we're all left with our hands tied to watch her starve and dehydrate to death, euthanasia would be her only saving grace. And yet you say immature things such as "screw the euthanasia movement", when that movement would be the only group able to relieve Terri's suffering right now. You claim you don't want her to suffer, yet you would prevent any alternative you may have left at this point. The only option she has left at this point, it's clear, is to die. She can either die while suffering for a couple of weeks, or she could go to sleep right now. It's not pro-death, it's anti-unnecessary-suffering. You're just not thinking clearly. It's so sad.
And by the way, no amount of petitioning is going to get the courts to change their minds...

What about the loving husband who can't stand to see his wife suffering anymore?
Would you want to go on "living" like that? What's the point? If she can't survive on her own, what's the point? It's unnatural and ridiculous.
And it's not even a religious issue, which is what people are trying to make it out to be. Religion has absolutely nothing to do with this.
The courts said no. They've been saying no for years. Because the courts are not based on emotion, like the family. They're based on logic and reason. Logic and reason says this is no way to live. And the law says the loving husband makes the choice.
And Justice........it's not very "just" to ban someone for expressing an opposing position. It just proves your fear. Also, just because I don't regularly "pray" per se, doesn't mean I'm not spiritual, or can't grasp a mortal concept. Here is where your ignorance is blinding you. There is not only one religious concept out there. Broaden your horizons. They don't all involve getting on your knees and reciting someone else's ancient words in order to be in touch with God.
This is insane.
