Justice for Terrorist Collaborators
In defense of the Administration’s unsuccessful suppression of Iraqi terrorists, William Raspberry disagrees with the correct judgment of Ayn Rand Institute’s Yaron Brook that President Bush should put the lives of Americans, and especially our troops, ahead of the safety of Iraqi civilians who collaborate with terrorists (“Occupation Hazards,” 12/27/2004). Fighting Iraqi terrorism requires not only vocal backlash against the terrorist actions and aggressive political reform, but also assertive deterrence to counter the violence. Brook is correct to call on the targeting of civilian collaborators, who are terrorists through their support of the violence. Terrorist collaborators should be treated with Justice not Mercy.
