US Election 2004

The Republican National Committee has created a 12 minute video available on the web, which could sink the Kerry campaign using extensive quotes from Kerry. 

No dirty tricks.  No Willie Horton blame shifting available.  This is no sound bite attack.   In the video, Kerry presents at length his various contradictory views on Iraq. 

Further, the video chums the water for a media feeding frenzy as most of the contradictory statements from Kerry are made in media interviews.  While the media can be predisposed on policy issues because of common liberal premises, they do not take to being made the fool.   Bill Clinton was raked over the coals by the media for lying to their face—“I did not have ….”

As the media gives this video widespread attention, Kerry risks losing the anti-war crowd to Nadar.  Without the Kerry’s image of electablility, they will want to send a message to the DNC about why the Democrats lost another presidential election.

UPDATE 8/12/2004:   Oops.  No feeding frenzy yet, my bad.  According to a quick Google news search the only reference to this video is from three days ago in a press release by the RNC saying that the video had been presented 3 million times.  However, media reports are starting to dig a little deeper into Kerry's rhetoric and so far there is no greater depth to be reported.
