Bush Wins!

Based upon the NBC and FOX Electoral College projections, Bush will be re-elected (based upon a House tie-breaker).

The bad news is that Senate Democrats have had their heads handed to them in the South (1 potential loss in Florida is still too close to call), and with the loss of their leader.  This will limit but not overturn their capacity to block bad actions by Bush, such as bad court appointments.

After Kerry has conceded and Bush has declared victory, it will be necessary for the Senate Democrats to select a new minority leader.  Frankly, if they really thought Kerry would be the best leader for our country, they should select him to be their minority leader.

On an administrative note, US Election 2004 will continue to post after today.  In addition to significant news items, the posts will focus on the challenges for the next term, and explore how we can have better choices in 4 years.

Its a shame.. America choose a path of hypocracy, and voted on the basis of fear, hatred, and
a shallow, inarticulate, insincere pretend christain, is once again in power...
All I heard, hes gonna take our guns, or them gays, or hes for abortion. Just because a fool prays, makes him no less a fool, and dividing America, is the only thing Bush is good at. An honorable, articulate man was smeared, demonized, his war record ridiculed and distorted, by a draft dodger, yet, its ok, Bush is born again. If Bush represents christain values, with his lies, war, and campaign of filth and vile, false statements and seeds of fear, then the christains are no better than the evil they claim to struggle with.
Live with this self serving, rich and corporate protecting, job exporting, evil Saint of the right-wing.
The stupid, uninformed, redneck, praying excuses everything, southern beer on Saturday night, church on Sunday, self righteous, gun toting, uneducated, explain it all away by God's will, war mongers can get their belly full of Iraq and mediocracy over the next four years..

According to the people the wrone man hasn't won?????  Oh please the religious fanatics voted for him because he makes his decisions based on religion, others voted because he was already in office and they don't know the issues and the republicans that voted for him did so mainly because they always vote republican.  If everyone in this country had voted on the facts Bush would not have gotten one vote unfortunately we live in America where little over half that voted decided that the facts didn't matter and in doing so have decided that everyone in this country is not equal... What will he do next merge religion directly into the government?  Or perhaps he will actually stop gay hate crimes from actually being considered hate crimes because we all know that we chose to be persecuted, I mean who wouldn't chose to be beaten.....  It is ironic though considering that most of his money was raised by Mary Cheney who is a lesbian... interesting.  This country is in a recession during a time of war....war is supposed to make the country prosper but hey a first time for everything. Not to mention the fact that he should NOT have been in office these past four years.  The supremem court appointing him was BS and defied the people.  Welcome to the new Nazi regime...hope you enjoy it.
