I am finding it hard to believe it's been exactly 1 year since I started this journal. Guess it's obvious I've been Busy! LOL
And I have.... Gage Russell and his Momma have been living here with us for about the last year. Lucky us!! We have had a real chance to be a part of Gage's everyday life. This is his home now and we couldn't be happier.

This is a post I made in one of my Linda Ronstadt groups. It is about Gage and is also posted on my Linda Ronstadt Journal... I felt it should be here too.
Hi Special Friends.... I just had some of the most wonderful and soul touching moments of my life. I am sure I have bragged to ya'll about my newest great nephew, Gage Russell. He was born on April 2 and named after my Daddy, who I lost in Jan 2002. I am sooo in love with this baby. Larry says he has a spell on me!! Maybe so ... and it's a wonderful thing! And Gage loves me too! We all 3 have a pretty wonderful love affair going on actually. I have 8 other nieces and nephews and love them all to the depth of my soul... there's something that feels so special with Gage. He is here with me now and I decided it was time to share Dedicated with him... just within the last hour. Funny... my feeling was that Linda would leave that beautiful imprint on his soul whether he was aware of it or not, and I really feel that happened. What was even more wonderful than that was the new imprint on my soul! I was holding Gage and singing and swaying around feeling so happy! It was the songs "Baby I Love You" and "Angel Baby" .... and the beautiful feeling of this baby in my arms... that filled my soul with such love and emotion that I was crying. I am not a mother myself... but I think I experienced love as close as you can get to a Mother's love without being one. I am not an Angel but I think I experienced a bit of what heaven must feel like. Once again.... Linda was such an important part of a "life moment" for me. And that's what Linda means to me. Kathy

Subject: About Gage Russell

I guess I should start this journal off with some info.
Gage Russell is the newest addition to our family. He is the son of our niece Amanda and the baby brother of Colton Clay.... Amanda's first son who will be 6 in November.
Gage was born on April 2, 2003. That is also my Granny's birthday. We lost her in Oct of 1999. Gage was born on a very special day.
Gage's middle name "Russell" is my Daddy's middle name. We lost Daddy in Jan of 2001. We are so proud that Amanda chose to name her baby boy after Daddy. I know that Daddy is watching from heaven and beaming with pride. I can only pray that Gage Russell will grow up to be half the man that his Grandaddy.... Donald Russell, was.
We are so very lucky to have our niece Amanda. She is so special in many ways... but for now we want to thank her for her love and generousity. She has been so wonderful about letting us spend time with Gage. We are soooo in love with this baby!!!! He has both of us completely under his spell!! And we couldn't be happier!! We don't have any kids of our own... have always considered all the nieces and nephews as part ours. We are having an amazing time enjoying this new baby together. Thank you Amanda .. from the very soul of us.
