Feeling Ecstatic

Cari's Graduation

Our daughter, Cari, graduated from California State University, Fullerton on Saturday.  We are so very proud of her accomplishments.

It was a HOT day.  Over 100 degrees by the time the ceremony was finished.  We arrived at 7:00 a.m. so Cari could line up with the 1,000 other Communications graduates as well as 9,000 other students from other departments all getting their degrees.  It was the largest graduating class in the 50 year history of the university.  All the grads wore a white shawl over their black robes signifying the university's 50th anniversary.  They looked terrific!

The first ceremony was at 8:00 a.m.  It was for all the graduates from all the colleges.  After it finished at 10:15, we went to the soccer stadium to watch the Communications College give diplomas to the students from Entertainment Studies (Cari's major), Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, and Visual Arts - 1,000 students in all.  What a JOY it was to hear her name called, see her shake hands with the dean and then dance down the ramp and back to her seat.  Gave me goosebumps and tears.

We got home around 1:15.  That gave us 45 minutes to put out all the food and refreshments for the party to honor our grad.  We had about 40 family members and friends stop in to congratulate Cari and enjoy the afternoon with us.  It was a wonderful time.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

Cari and her good friend, Vanessa.  Vanessa and Cari went through the Entertainment Studies program together and also interned together at SubsetM where Cari is now working FULL time.  YIPPEE............    Vanessa is doing some freelance bookings for some of the SubsetM clients.  She is going on to get her master's degree and isn't looking for a full time job just yet.
