Hearing Old CSI Miami
12:30 a.m. PST

I don't want to forget to set the clock forward tomorrow night. I love daylight savings time. It's strange that it's coming so early this year but I'm not going to complain.
M & M's come in a new extra large size now. They are about the size of 3 regular M & M's. I bought a bag to have on hand when my grandchildren come over ~ Andrew LOVES them. I get such a kick out of him when he sees them on the counter. His face lights up and he gets the cutest smile on his face. I hope he likes the new big ones. He's going to be amazed.

Men's Formal Waist Coat
Here are pictures of the men's formal waist coat that I made (with help from the local tailor) for my sister-in-law's Halloween exhibit. It was a very difficult project and I am so glad it is finished and in her hands. She will put it on the mannequin and decide where to place the buttons. I put button holes in but the buttons need to be set according the the size of the mannequin wearing it. Dennis tried it on and it really looks much better on than haning on a hanger.

The back view shows some white marks on the sleeve and tails, that is just in the picture. The actual garment does not have spots (thank goodness).

Baby Blanket

Here's a photo of the baby blanket I made for Linda's granddaughter, Ava. I'll be mailing it tomorrow (10-9-07). Hope she likes it.

Close up of pattern. Cute, huh?

I Friggin' Give Up
Oh, okey! I give up. I cannot figure it out. I have sewn and ripped out so many times that the fabric looks like mesh. Ahhhhhhh!!! Well, it's not that bad but almost.
You know what I did? I threw it in a bag along with the pattern pieces, a picture of the coat, all the extra fabric and took it to a tailor shop. I'm paying someone to finish the top of the jacket. 55 buckeroooos...... to put the collar, inner facing and finish the front facing panels. Can you believe it? I'm paying $55 to have it finished and I don't even care. It is such a relief to have it out of my sewing room and someone else's problem that if it cost $155 it would be worth it.
I am finishing the tails and will sew them on when I get the top of the jacket back. I'm not a total looser. LOL
I will post pictures and give credit where credit is due.

Old Fashioned Men's Waist Coat
I have been working on a men's formal waist coat for days and days. It's the most difficult pattern I've ever attempted and I'm about ready to wad it up in a ball and toss it out the window.
The pattern directions are vague and incomplete. It is supposed to be lined and I'm not lining it because it's a costume and will be worn once. I have struggled with each step to the point of screaming.
I will not give up. I will finish it and I will deliver it to my sister-in-law next week if it kills me. And it just might.
A picture will be posted when it's finished.
