The Photo Editor

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since my last entry here and almost a year since I accepted my new job as picture editor for The Washington Post.

it had been quite a year! More on that later.

Anyway, I think I will make an attempt to update here more frequently; I am getting used to my new role and responsibilities and feel ready to re-enter the blogosphere!

Back again. This blog, long neglected, may get a new start as this photo editor is about to start on a new adventure! My life as a picture editor is about to get a lot more complex, but this move is long overdue.

Haven't checked in for a long time. I have been spending time on Good Reputation Sleeping (my typepad site) and Flickr. Both are superior weblog/photolog software products - Flickr comes with the added benefit of great community forming properties.

AOL Journals (like Microsoft Spaces) suffers from being way behind the curve on giving functionality to those who want to weblog. Almost every other product available from free (Blogger and Live Journal) to pay (Typepad), just kick it.

Clearly its not that hard to do this software; except perhaps if you design it by committee.

Anyway, looks like there are some improvements around here, so I may play around with it a bit and see what happens.

I haven't been here in while; I work on a Mac and the experience has been less than stellar. Looks like things are changing though. That's good.

I have been spending a good amount of time with my latest fad, the photo-sharing service Flickr.

Great tools, cool interface for viewing. Lots of possibilties.  Find my shots here!

It has been quite a while since I added anything to this weblog.  Most of my posting these days has been over at Good Reputation Sleeping, but I haven't hit that since returning from vacation.  Still getting back in the groove, I guess. Having to be logged in to AOL and on a PC to add hyperlinks is a big downer for this blog. Oh well, it is for AOL members!

I haven't looked here in a while. I was impressed by the ease of use, turned off by the lack of html tag ability unless using Windows. This came out about the time Typepad was making its debut; Typepad has made a big splash, while Journals....?

I have just returned from another trip to the North Carolina outerbanks - our second this summer! This trip was only for a couple of days, a quick visit with out Virginia neighbors, Pam and Randy, during their 2 weeks off. One more chance to stick our feet in the water and stare at the clouds!
