Fall in New England
The Bengals are beginning to turn over a new leaf with Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer. Palmer, TJ and Chad left the vaunted Ravens defense hanging with their mouths wide open with a high improbably 4th quarter comeback. This week, the stiffest challenge of the year comes in the form of Bill Bilachek's New England Patriots. How can the Bengals beat one of the leagues best teams. To paraphrase the WWE. It's smackdown time. The bengals will need to use the get tough and beat up the opponent that Pittsbugh used to beat NE earlier in the season. Offensively, Cincinnati has to have a ZERO turnover day in Foxboro. The best part will be when the defense stuff's Corey Dilllion for 35 total yards and then the NE fans will see the real Dillion that we had to put up with all of those years. The game will be a real tough in your face type of game with plenty of big hits and big plays. In the end, the winner will be who has the last chance to kick the game winning field goal.
Go Bengals!

Baltimore Blues
Well it's another exciting week in the AFC North. Pittsburgh will continue to roll on it's way to the Super Bowl. Cleveland will be visited by the Coaches of Christmas past and will continue to be haunted by their season long nightmare and the Bengals and Ravens will battle by the harbor for a highly unprobable playoff spot. With Jamal Lewis out for the game, the Bengals need to use the blueprint of the Patriots in order to beat the Ravens. Throw the ball downfield and use it to set up the run. The track should be a lot better in Baltimore instead of the quagmier of New England. Expect a defensive battle for the first half until the Ravens defense is opened up by the running game.
Go Bengals

track meet at pbs
And they kept scoring and scoring and scoring....
Man on man what a game on Sunday the offensive display, the missing defense til the end and the turnovers that kept it close. I believe that the Energizer Bunny mutiplied and put on Bengal stripes and Brownie whites and played an offensive scrimage.
It was fun to watch if you like offense. It was a defensive coordinators nightmare.
But in the end, it was the D that sealed the victory. now isn't that ironic?

Pittsburgh Steelers my heart again
Well it was almost a perfect weekend.
My alma mater, Carroll High School won the State divisional playoff game on Friday.
Ohio State crushed Michigan on Saturday.
and on Sunday, the Bengals had great things going through half time.
Then reality and the Steelers defense set in. I can't blame the Bengals defense.
7 sacks, 1 forced turnover and only 10 points allowed. I can't fault Carson. Even after the interception returned for a TD, Cincinnati was still up 14-10. But what I can fault if the offensive coaching staff and their lack of creativity and adjustments. With no offense to speak of in the second half, Dick LeBeau schooled Steve Bartowski with half time adjustments and pressure defense. As I have said before, the key to a Bengals victory is to STRETCH the field and run Rudi run.
In the second half they did neither and the 2 game winning streak is over.
Well next week is Cleveland and Marvin has lit a fire under the oragization's backside.

tuna's are stinky when their dead
What color, what execution, who and what was that team that beat Big D and the Tuna. To hear the Tuna speak after the game, you would think that somebody just took all his marbles and went home.
The suprize was the way the Bengals defense stepped up and had 4 takeaways and turned that into 16 points. The numbing effect of the bengals running game and no turnovers by Carson put the Tuna and Big D on ice.
Now if we can put those uniforms on ice.

there no f in way
Well I'll be a sumbitch. Just when you think that they've turned the corner, they kick you out the door. On Friday, I said for the bengals to win, they have to stretch the field. They did that on the first drive and then they go back to the dink doink done.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results. It is time for a new offensive coordinator. When the right plays/schemes are called, they can move the ball against anyone. But the scheme goes out the window and the plays should be booked for being offensive to the paying fans.
well there's next week.....

no t time in tennesse
The Bengals have a good chance to find out if Monday was a fluke or not.
With McNair probably out and C Brown hurting, Cincinnati can run their way to victiory in Nashville.
The keys on offense. Run, run again and s-t-r-e-t-c-h the field passing. No dink passes, no throw the ball 5 yards on 3 down and 9.
Defensively. pressure and more pressure.
Prediction Cincinnati 24 Titans 18

Who Dey @#?&%&
What?
When?
Who?
How?
I don't know who that team was that masquaraded as the Broncos, but Orange and Black on Halloween must have scared them into have imposters show up. Or better yet, maybe it was the Bengals who were the imposters last night.
Kudos to the play calling. Offensivly they stretched the field and challanged the Champ and knocked him out. Albeit he did pick one off in the red zone. That opened up the running game and Rudi delivered. Defensivly, a great pressure defense that kept Denver off balance and the Bengals ahead all game long.
well 2-4.
maybe next week it'll be 3-4.
give me T for Texas, give me a T for Tennessee.

99 bottles of beer drown my sorrows
Well it's been awhile since I wrote. After the Cleveland game and their lackluster effort, The Bungles are the bungles once again. The sad truth is poor coaching, poor play calling and poor execution. 1 and 4 AGAIN. well there's the potential embarrasment against the Broncos, at least I can drink a beer for each yard of the 99 pass play the defense gave up.
oh well

Is it bye-bye @ the Bye?
Hmmm. 1-3 again. Well my Bengals at least made it interesting this week. I enjoyed the game through the beer goggles of Minster Oktoberfest. The weather was perfect and the food was excellent and the best part. Cold Beer. Anywho, as for the game. The Bengals had control in the third quarter and that Stadium on the river was silent. What should one do? Ah, I know run the ball. Do it again and again and again. The talent is there, but I have to start to question the play calling. Pound the ball and demoralize the defense. Also, if you are going to throw the ball, stretch the field. That will open up more space and from there open up the running game.
Well I've got a 100% prediction this week. The Bengals won't lose.
till next time...
